FOIL - Testprint for the STAR - Silver Front/Magic Back

Post by the swiss » Thu Feb 25, 2010 9:48 pm

The matter/material to make the silver STAR was tested on a card.

This card is the FILLer 10 on the RARITIES. Many years ago, the seller on EBAY
give me this indication. In my opinion this make sens.

Please feedback. Thanks.

The shooting star filler is on the foil Urza's Destiny sheet and is probably on the Urza's Legacy sheet as well. The shooting star filler is not a test print card it's just a normal filler from the foil sheet.
BGS 9+ Alpha set 282/295 (97.29%) Avg 9.41
BGS 9.5+ Beta set 283/302 (93.71%) Avg 9.58
BGS 9.5+ Arabian set 35/92 (38.04%) Avg 9.62
BGS 9.5+ Antiquities set 82/100 (82%) Avg 9.64
BGS 9.5+ Legends set 279/310 (90.00%) Avg 9.61

The shooting star filler is the number 7 and not 10.

When did the filler 10 come about? If it wasn't before the Exodus test prints it probably wasn't created to test the foil star. In fact, the non-foil Exodus test prints are very likely the ones on which the star was tested, not the filler.

@Brian: It was Saga, not Legacy/Destiny, wasn't it?

Then I guess it's possible, although Exodus was released in 1998, and if I am not mistaken test prints are created a couple years before a set's release. I still believe that the nonfoil Exodus test prints were created to test the foil star, as there honestly is no other reason why they would exist. The filler 10 material could conceivably have been a rough material test before they used the nonfoil test prints to test how the star would look if it was created early enough.
