Nicola Leonard-Beeson - Early Magic artist - inquiry
This is Nicola Leonard - I'm one of the original Magic artists. I'm looking to sell my Father's Magic collection and am seeking thoughts on best place to sell them and fair price.
I have a lot of cards that are signed, many aren't that valuable, but I know the sigs are the real thing. I also have a few oddities...Wotc denim jacket, watch, ...card signed by Richard Garfield, a couple other magic related shirts, ...color artist proofs of a few early paintings.
All the cards are in very good shape, have been kept in a binder since my Dad received them from me.
Shall I make a list of valuable cards? Or just post photos?
I've just posted a few pictures to my facebook. Here is the link.

Thanks for your input in advance :)

Hey Nicola,
Welcome aboard!!! Nice to meet you :)
First and foremost I've always been a fan of the MtG art, especially the early stuff. I was always hoping to catch you at a show or TTM, but, alas, I never had the fortune :(
As for your inquiry... I think you have some pretty nice stuff there. I would definitely post more pics here to get a better idea. I'm sure the originals will go for a fair amout, as will several of the "unusual" items. In addition, is the Tabernacle card an AP or actual MtG card? The actual card sells for over $200 and is the best card showing in the lot.
When you do finally sell eBay is probably best, making sure you let everyone know you're selling the stuff (to maximize exposure). Beyond that I'm sure others here can help more than me. Good luck in whatever you decide to do, and best wishes to you and yours!!!
Take it easy,
Jared

Thanks Jared :) Nice to meet you too!
Sorry we never met at any of the Magic events...
And thank you for your input on how to sell my Dad's collection.
I do enjoy the early art...the diversity...the new art is amazing though too.
The early art was more unexpected...and unique.
Thank you for the warm welcome :) I will continue to post what I dig out of the box of Magic :)

Mine is fairly well worn but my wife's is almost new.
I was offered more then $200 for mine when it still looked kinda new. The person was wanting to wear it and it would fit. The one my wife has will not fit most adults.

Yes, there is a black nightmare jacket. And somewhere in the wold is the one I received in Japan at the release of Magic there. Whoever took it off my chair while I was at the bathroom is not my friend and may the fleas of 1000 camels infest his/her tender parts.
There is also a blue denum nightmare jacket. Which I am afraid to wear to events.

I actually helped Melba Chaffee with the art when Doug, an early mtg artist, passed away. Getting fans art is just magical Christmas land for me.
I will fully volunteer helping you appraise the original art to helping you get it sold, if that's an option. Just want it preserved for future art exhibitions. :-)
