well since this is supposed to be an informative thread... I heard the hurricane sold for $X.Xk

I think it should grade BGS 8 or 8.5 when I get around to sending it in. off-center, great surface, great edges and corners overall but a small spot of edge wear on the bottom/back.

In July 2006:
the last blue hurricane that went on ebay was around $1200~$1300
That was cheap

I agree with this.

Also, he sold 2 other Blue Hurricanes recently in the $6,000 to $7,000 range each, so that is at least 2 people that really wanted them, but weren't bidding on this.

every week there is summer lands for sell on ebay.
This week there is a bunch.
I think price will drop on those.
There is quite a lot and i think they are not owned by collectors.

That Hurricane sale was a gift for whomever won it. Congratz to them. now I'm sorry I did not go for it at that price

Somehow I don't quite see the "trend" Daniel is talking about regarding people wanting to buy stuff via social media. That misunderstanding of the marketplace just cost him a whack of $. Sad for him but happy for the buyer.

... but at least he saved the $250 in fees =D>
