Can someone tell me why Goblin Settler from S99 is so expensive?

Only goblin that blows up lands? Goblin Lackey? Legacy? Only printed in Starter?

Simply sophistication. When was the last time you saw a Goblin who was a settler? Most times they are pillaging!

EDH I believe Mark, he is Avalanche Riders #2 and because he is from Starter that means $$$ for no real reason.

Thanks guys, I was just curious, as I thought maybe it was a distribution thing.

I remember getting none when I opened 3 boxes of Starter 99, but then I won an auction that contained 8 of them for $20. Not sure if it was a problem similar to the Legends uncommons where you had no chance at getting certain uncommons depending on the box.

Wow......I didn't realize they were $50+ that's a bit crazy. Goblin Settler is starting to look like Imperial Recruiter with the way the price trend is heading.

I bought one recently (still waiting for it in the mail...) for $25 in case it went up, and well, thank god I did.

Edh is so rediculose sometimes. weird what it does to some cards.

I completely agree. See Capture of Jingzhou as well for what happens when people want one more copy of a certain effect.
