It's about $50 to high. I'm sure someone desperate will pick it up though.

According to google's currency converter the one recently sold in Japan (somebody posted a link this month) went for more than $300, so apparently there are people willing to pay that price.

I think what he's saying is: given a reasonable amount of time you can expect to acquire one for nearly 50 dollars. However, you have raised an interesting point, that a seller may expect to get nearly 300 dollars if they find someone desperate, or own a mtg website with enough traffic. That's a large range, but I've seen larger :-P.

$300 seems totally fine. I'm sure it'll be gone within a week.

I don't think you understood what I said. I said the $300 price is about $50 to high which means you should be able to pick one of these up for $250 not $50. These angels are very hard to find and pretty rare. If you can pick one up for $50 then you were dealing with an idiot and it's highly unlikely. $250 is the right price on this card but I'm sure someone will end up picking the one StarCity has for $300.

Just thought I'd chime in for reference, I purchased my Starlit Angel back in '07

$122.60 04/2007

SCG's sold for

$300 02/2011

Taking into account the difficulty in finding one, and the 4 year difference, along with the fact that it sold in 6 days, I suppose it is not unreasonable :)

If I had known it would've appreciated at an ~25% annual compounded interest rate, I would've bought more, and hung onto them.

Is this card an uncommon? I wonder why it's so expensive in that case. The last one one on Ebay sold $405. Is Portal so extremely rare in Simplified Chinese that an uncommon can be so expensive? I know there are many angels collectors and this card is also wanted by rarities collectors, but it seems overvalued.

The card is alternate art and is only in that language.

Yes, it's an Uncommon, Simplifified Chinese Portal is extremely rare, and out of a Simplified Chinese booster box of 60 boosters, you can only get 2, according to different sources.
