As of Friday, there is one more complete set that I can verify.

Here are a few of the last cards I finally tracked down to complete the set I have been working on for over eight years:

=D> great job - beautiful cards.

Quite the accomplishment. I personally don't think I will finish my set which is aprox 60% complete. The card prices are moving past my current means to get them.

But congratz to you for doing what many of us would wish for.

Those cards are pack fresh. They look beautiful.

Congrats on this huge task :-)

I wonder if I will be able to gather one one day :-)

Impressive.

Apart from that: with the rising price I see a rising risk of counterfeits, especially in "low end" summers (like basic lands). Is that not a concern to all you Summer collectors out there?

How do you think one could properly counterfeit MtG cards? I heard of all kinds of counterfeits which in the end were more or less easy to spot when you know what to search for.

Oh, I'm by no means an expert in CF tecniques, so I dunno.
But if I was working in the original plant that had those printed, given the prices, I could think abount a second run ;)
The more the value the more the incentive, I guess, for hi-end fakes. Summer are so scarce that their scans should be put in a public catalogue, just in case a new one pops out...

LOL, anyway nothing serious, again congrats for the herculean task!

TBH - this would pretty much work if you get all existing parameters somewhat matching and none would ever notice it. Luckily there are not that much people like you who have/had access to that kind of machinery.

Better none ever posts high res scans of the complete set without a watermark.

Don't get me wrong, I'm quite the honest kind of fool. But do not trust too much people working in those plants, in the end many of the collectibles you talk about here were to be destroyed in the first place, if one was to follow rules.
And I personally know people that were in charge of MTG cards disposal and never destroyed those without adeguate "inspection".
I also know people that receive stacks of promos for free, and people that have (had?) stacks of square cut foil rares... in multiples.
