Abnormal distruibution in some Alara Reborn boxes ?
I decided to post this Topic since many of you are pretty good at maths and like to elaborate statistics on card distribution in packs.
I just got these from a single box (36 packs) :
Not that I'm complaining of course, but:
1 FOIL Mythic rare
4 Mythic rares
6 FOIL rares (!)
an appreciable selection of pretty good rares
... and, for example, only 1 FOIL Common !
I know that it is theoretically possible to open this selection in a pure random process, but to be honest I deem it quite unlikely, which would mean that the rarity distribution in booster boxes has been screwed up during production, and it is in turn pretty unlikely this affected my box only !
This would be the first time I know of something like this from the times of Legends (the famous Uncommons A and B list) or Mirage (all-rare starter decks).
Did any of you also experience similar "lucky" boxes ?

I've also seen som odities. Boxes that contained a lot of mythics but also a box in which the foils were uncommon.
Has anyone else noticed that the printing quality of Alara reborn is even worse then previous sets. At the prerelease a lot of cards had faded text. And also saw a box in which the text was blurred/double printed. So it looked like all the cards had a bold font.

No, sigh. Only wierd box I ever got was a Homelands that half of the boosters did not have any uncommons (read rares) in them.ende73 wrote:Did any of you also experience similar "lucky" boxes ?
What part of the world did you get these in?

The story of all-rare English Mirage starter decks (which I witnessed with my own eyes) also happened in Rome (Italy) back in 1995.

I witnessed all-rare English Revised starter decks in the booming Metropolis of North Bay, Ontario. Lets just say getting 3 playsets of duals (120) from a box was a possibility. Just wasn't my box unfortunately.ende73 wrote: The story of all-rare English Mirage starter decks (which I witnessed with my own eyes) also happened in Rome (Italy) back in 1995.

Maybe you, or someone on the board can help me understand where things are printed now.ende73 wrote:I purchased this English box in Rome (Italy)mystical_tutor wrote:What part of the world did you get these in?
1) is everything printed in the US??
2) If not, are all English language cards printed in the US?
3) if 1=no then does CM still do part of the printing and if so what?
Any info would be appreciated.

The box I opened states "Made in Belgium" on it.mystical_tutor wrote:Maybe you, or someone on the board can help me understand where things are printed now.ende73 wrote:I purchased this English box in Rome (Italy)mystical_tutor wrote:What part of the world did you get these in?

I'm not familiar with where editions are printed nowadays so I don't know if this is an exception, sorry.

No "sorry", my friend, we are all groaping in the dark when it comes to this but that could indicate it was printed by Cart Mundi, which has produced some goofs in the last 15+ years. Though, actually the shear volume of what they have done and the tremendous amount of "correct" product they have produced is staggering--so the law of averages has to catch up once in awhile.ende73 wrote:The box I opened states "Made in Belgium" on it.

Are those US or Belgium boxes??Gryfalia wrote:I have had 2 boxes of English with double Sen Triplets, and each of those 2 boxes also had double Maelstrom Pulse.
In fact, I think I've had 3 boxes with a double Mythic in it, which is weird itself...

Hummm.
Just checked, and Reborn boxes are made in Belgium. I checked the French and Russian boxes and will check English and German later on this week.
Conflux and SoA were made in the USA though.
I remember some Conflux packs given out at the Hannover GP. There were duplicate commons in the packs. In the end, 20 cards of my sealed deck were made of the same crap commons.
I had to drop the event because of that, as they did not want to swap my boosters.
