Specimen Cards

Post by Mr.Wayne » Tue Jul 17, 2007 10:56 pm

Hey ende!

Yes, you bought the first......and the first is the best lol!

I did notice that most of my specimen cards appeared a bit dark....didn't give it much thought. I've got a Mogg Flunkies that is quite dark....I'd say 10 of the 14 I have appear darker to me, and at least one of each color.

Looks like my topic was deleted and re-posted here...guess that's to keep it all together, which is fine. Any other questions I'll answer here. Guess while I'm at it, here's an exact list of what numbers/specimen I have available:

NOTE: Several of these have sold, so the list is not currently 100% accurate

SPECIMEN BACKS

Mogg Flunkies (d)
Flowstone Shambler
Conviction
Youthful Knight (d)
Bandage (d)
Change of Heart (d)
Foul Imp
Tortured Existence (d)
Dungeon Shade (d)
Torment
Leap (d)
Lowland Basilisk (d)
Mulch (d)

(d) = cards that appear darker than normal to me

It was pointed out to me by Shaun that I said the other cards in the numbers packs were Stronghold cards......they were actually Exodus cards......no biggie, but for correctness sake :)

Also, I've picked up a few extra of the new Jaya Foil Promos. I'll let them go for $10 shipped in a padded envelope with top loader protector anywhere in the world (cheapest shipping possible.....for most locales that's 1st class).

Lastly, I've been getting into Magic Online of late and will consider MTGO cards, tix, and packs.

Thanks!

Any chance you can get a pic of the ones that look crimped?

I'll keep ya in mind, Alexis.....will probably want more for the #1 and the #109 should I decide to split them up, which I probably will if no one hits me up for the lot soon.

I'll see what I can do on a scan, slinga.....I've still got that crimped Argivian if you're interested.......

I'm in the process of obtaining another 15 of the Speicmen cards. I'll list them once the deal is complete.

and lastly, unrelated to this topic, I think I'm going to get more serious about my Serra Angel collection. I plan to post a list of what I have in the near future, so if you've got any hard to find (me being in the US, hard to find = foreign) Serras, lmk.

Thanks!

And 3 days later, the decision has been made to split 'em up.....that was fast lol! :)

Alexis has first shot at the first numerically and the last (# 1 [duh] and 109). If he doesn't want them, I will be asking $100 for the #1 and $75 for the #109.

Others:

Sets of 3 of the same number with different colors (example: 24 red, 24 blue, and 24 green) $225/set of 3

Other numbers $50 each

Specimen cards $50 each

Will still entertain offers on large quantities (nothing wrong with a quantity discount).

Hi Mister Wayne.
I won't get those at 100$ and 75$,especially when the last 15 that was on Ebay get bought by you at a mere 200$(13$ the Specimen Card).
Thanks for your offer anyway.
I will split the last posts to the trading section.

Actually, I made an offer that was considerably more than the current high bid for the seller to end the auction early and the seller accepted.....so I did not actually get those for $200.........wish I would have. Since he had been selling them well at $50 each + shipping, I guess he needed some fast cash to part with 15 at once. As I've learned, it's a lot easier to find people wanting one or two than it is to find people wanting 15 or 150 :)

No problem on holding off on those, Alexis. I appreciate your past business.

And to avoid confusion, my plan is to offer these here for a short time, then put any that remain in my Ebay store at the same prices. I have no plans to list these in an auction format at a price lower than posted here. Considering the rarity of these and the fact that I'll never be able to replace them, I feel the asking price is quite fair.

Thanks!

does anyone else have a problem with sellers being allowed to accept private offers and end an auction early? if bidders are bound to honor their bids, why aren't sellers bound to honoring their auctions?

Bidders can actually cancel their bids as well. The auction was honored, as I was the high bidder when it ended.....but I see what you're saying. I have a lot of problems with Ebay/Paypal.....but when it comes to large scale auction sites, they're pretty much the only game in town....

i disagree that the auction was honored. i came home to bid just before the auction was scheduled to end only to discover that it had ended early.
i lost the opportunity to fairly compete and the market lost the opportunity to set the price.

Once again, I see what you're saying......I don't agree with it, but I understand where you're coming from.

I don't know what you were planning to bid, but you're welcome to pm me an offer. If we're in the ball park, I'll see what I can do for you.

For the record, here's eBay's policy on the issue:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/rfe ... -sale.html

"It is acceptable for sellers to end a listing early in order to sell an item at the current bid price to the high bidder. Bidders are permitted to contact sellers with requests to end a listing early and sell at the current bid price"

However, it does list "Ending a listing early to sell the item at a higher price to the winning bidder" as a violation of policy, but I'm sure that's only out of self-interest on the part of eBay

Ya got me.....I paid current bid for 'em :-D

I wasn't aware of that rule, but as you say, I'm sure that's for Ebays benefit.

If anyone is interested, drop me a line. Also might consider trading for higher dollar items (cards, video games).

Thanks!
