I don't believe that there are MMQ cards made in the USA. I have bought various times cards from the US and all were looking like Belgium cards. Whoever reported this should double check his boosters.

I have noted that several reported instances of "Made in USA" English Boosters do not match what I have in my collection but as I have bought most of my boosters from Europe I don't have enough info to say that they definitely do not exist.

For some reason There was no "Grinning Totem" booster art for Spanish or Portuguese. I checked with a few sellers and they went through their whole box and didn't find any. Anyone know why?

Hi Ron

I went through all the pages with comments, I was the one that mentioned the Made in Belgium for the first time, so I presume the made in the U.S.A. was added by Berkumps, I have sent him a message.

Most of the Made in USA info comes from members that bought boosters in the US, Canada or even Asia. Mark, you should make a list of those, so they can be double checked, then I can add them in the "To be verified" that I'm working on. We all knew that working on that list won't be an easy task.

That is my intention, it will be a shopping list!

I am confident that the USA members know what they are doing but it is always good to double check, I don't want to spend too long looking for boosters that don't exist.

Mark

I have added more info in the first list, this one one might interest you as I do confirm that 2 different English sealed version exist both of them "Made in Belgium":

Chronicles (July 1995) 2
While the price is not mentioned on the booster, it was changed in September 1995 from US $2.25 to US $2.45. That might explained why Chronicles English boosters are sealed in a different way or 2 different printing facilities (more logical) also a new printing might have taken place ?
Made in Belgium: English, Japanese, Japanese (Multiverse Gift Box)

Whenever you have time, can you help completing with the different variants:
Here's how the "made in" looks in each language. Different variants exist.

English: Made in USA, Made in the USA, Made in the U.S.A.
French: Fabriqué aux Etats-Unis
German: Hergestellt in den USA
Italian: Stampato Negli USA
Japanese: Made in the USA
Korean: 미국 (older products are printed in English)
Korean: 미국에서 (newer products, RTR and maybe others)
Portuguese: Fabricado Nos EUA
Russian: сделано в США
Simplified Chinese: 美 国
Spanish: Fabricado en EE.UU.
Traditional Chinese: 美 國

English: Made in Belgium or Printed in Belgium by Carta Mundi
French: Imprimé en Belgique, Fabriqué en Belgique (older product)
German: Hergestellt in Belgien
Italian: Stampato in Belgio
Japanese: Made in Belgium
Korean: ?
Portuguese: Impresso na Bélgica or Fabricado na Bélgica (older product), Fabricado na Bélgica (newer product)
Russian: сделано в ЕС (Russian, 9th Edition)
Russian: сделано в Бельгии
Simplified Chinese: 比 利 时
Spanish: Hecho en Bélgica por Carta Mundi
Traditional Chinese: 比 利 時

I started doing something like that a while back

Image

But it got real complicated really fast and slowed down the scanning. Most of the Made in ... info is hidden under the flap as well which is a pain as once I finish scanning them I seal them up in bags to keep the dirt and scratches away.

Interesting info on the Chronicles. I have an example of the booster on the left, I will dig through and find out if I have any others in storage.

The Multiverse Gift Box may hold more surprises :)

Update to Renaissance
Renaissance (July 1995) 3
Made in Belgium: French, German, German (Multiverse Gift Box), Italian
Renaissance (July 1995) 3
Made in Belgium: French, German, German (Multiverse Gift Box), Italian

Italian Blue Boosters are Narrow Crimp. Red Boosters were not made.
French Blue and Red Boosters are Wide Crimp
German Blue and Red Boosters are Narrow Crimp
German Blue Booster is also in Wide Crimp.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3z_eB ... sp=sharing

I must buy a Multiverse Gift Box, and a Vanguard one as well so I can confirm all these boosters as I have no idea whether my boosters are from the boxes or not.

I only have a few boosters so there may be many more varieties out there, I can't say that what I have found is definitive.

What I have to work with...
German Boosters: 4 Blue (2 of each crimp), 2 Red
French Boosters: 2 Blue, 2 Red
Italian Boosters: 3 Blue

By printing the crimp comparisons out at high magnification I was able to get an accurate count of how many crimps there were in each booster and by measuring the boosters (Narrow Crimp boosters are 1mm wider) I was able to get a fairly accurate crimp spacing.

Wide Crimping 44 crimps or 1.5mm crimps
Narrow Crimping 67 crimps or 1mm crimps

Image

Did the Multiverse Gift Box have a Blue German Renaissance Booster? The pictures look like the Red one to me.
