Artist Proof misprint?

I have a very odd one here.

Got some cards signed by Wayne England and got an artist proof as a gift.

The picture (see below) didn't look very familiar so I checked my M12 cards and found a different picture.

Here is the AP I got:

Anyone familiar with specific case? Are there more? Is it a common thing with AP that I didn't know about(I have hundreds of AP and not once experienced something like that)?

The art is an alteration, not a misprint.

100% not an artist alter. It's the original picture on the card.

I'm 100% sure it is :)
As a fan of his work, I follow all of his ebay auction, and I can assure you he sold this one as an alter.

He does'nt paint though, he use acrylink ink, which is very very thin and very realistic.

I can even see some of the borders of the picture that got painted too, that should be an alteration. Looks similar to an alteration I have, the colors I mean.

It looks like one of H.R.Giger's Aliens.

Odd choice for an artist to copy another artist's work.

Are you sure it was meant for you and he didn't just put it in the wrong envelope?

He did lots of them.

In the same lot, he drew some scary pumpkin on a lorwyn command ap, on another one an hannibal lecter's mask, and some with alien artwork, like this one.

I remember the original auction. And I have comissioned him many similar ones on Lorwyn Commands, so I know what they are.

I also have the backs sketched too. He does nice alters, so I like them but you could have a regular one as well, as long as he has some left.
