Hi Members

While talking to Berkumps yesterday, we make a new discovery about Portal, Portal Second Age, and Fifth Edition Starters. For Sealed Collectors, it might interest them. Let start by Portal.

PORTAL

Regular Portal Starter 2 Player is WOC17000 and have a gold pull strip in the wrapper

Demo Portal Starter 2 Player is WOC17000, just having a Demo sticker underneath, on the left of the bottom of the starter.

Now, there's the New one Portal Starter 2 Player WOC17007 and doesn't have a gold pull strip in the wrapper. So I help Mark, to solve that mystery, by looking at my WOTC 1998 Catalog. And the answer was 2- deck starter starter set with J-hook WOC17007

PORTAL SECOND AGE

Regular Portal Second Age Starter 2 Player is WOC17025

New Portal Second Age 2- deck starter starter set with J-hook WOC17026

FIFTH EDITION

Regular Fifth Edition Starter 2 Player is WOC16009

New Fifth Edition 2- deck starter starter set with J-hook is WOC16011

It applies also for the display containing the Starter 2 Player, 2 different WOC numbers: Regular Versus J-Hook

It is unknown for now, if only English version is concerned, or, if this applies also for the different languages.

So, this is how, Mark, me, and few others will be hunting now those 3 sealed starters for completist reason #-o Thanks Mark to have opened that can of worms

PS: Scans to be added for better understanding...

Thanks for that news! As I collect print variants, is there any difference in the cards?

I know two 5th Edition USA variants, one light and one dark print. I thought the first was booster/starter and the latter Two Players Set, now there might be a third copy to look for.

Hi

I won't be able to answer, as they belong to my sealed collection, and finding the Dutch version is really not an easy task, took me over 15 years to find them.

It might be possible that these cards indicate different variants. Look how the Plains symbol is aligned in the circle.

I have also evidence for different print runs of:

Tempest starter: en, sp, pt, jp

Well, for tempest, EN, GER, PT for sure have different Printruns, because of the Medaillons with and without Charlie Brown .

Tempest JP has different Printruns as well, because of the different Cursed Scroll and Blood Frenzy.

What evidence do you have for different spanish Tempest ?
