German misprint Wurmcoil Engine

Post by NeRo » Tue Jan 18, 2011 2:18 pm

Hey guys.

I just wanted to let you know that the German Wurmcoil Engines are all slightly misprinted.

The ability is "Todensberührung" instead of "Todesberührung".

If anyone needs one I am pretty sure the German members (including me) can easily help out.

So this is the misspelling of the German word by a letter being left out?

Or does this make it a different word or a word with a different meaning?

(my German is very bad and very limited).

Thanks!

Ahh, so this is a sloppy use of the spell checker on someones part.

Thanks

this is actually not the Only Misprint in German SoM

Steel Hellkite misses the "Combat" part of combat damage, so you can ping and boom with it. (I wonder, when those translaters stop with that error, as this seems to be very common on other german cards and in other languages ,too )

Genesis Wave also misses simply a letter in the
word "gebr(A)cht" ( brought) in the Text Box, this is a typo.

Now that is the kind of misprint I am interested in. That would go right along with my Korean "Killer Bees" that doesn't have flying.

I am interested in any cards like that and would be glad to trade for them. (of course, I need the translation too.....LOL).

The only really interesting German Misprints I know of are:

- The Green-M11-Leyline has the same Name in German as the Guildpact one ( :-D )

- The BB Verduran Enchantress let's you draw cards every time you cast a spell (Zauber) instead of a Enchantment (Verzauberung).

check out my Trade Thread, and you will find a lot more translation errors than that

http://www.magiclibrarities.net/forum/v ... php?t=7573

The Issue with the names is not only for Leyline, there are several more different cards from different sets with exactly the same name in german.

e.g.

Schillernder Engel
Zwang
Vergeltung
....

Say, is Vergeltung the same word as what V stood for in V1 and V2 rockets?

this might be a little "off topic" , but the V Stands for "Vergeltungswaffe" -> Vengeanceweapon in english
