Hi Members.
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/arcana/1374
This brings the question of are these Foils are aimed to be on Magic Rarities as they will have Alternate Text?Well, looks like beside the Tip cards,Tokens,Promos that will go with X Edition,I'm gonna have to Collect those Foils ,and I [-o< that I do not have to get the Complete Foil set in case All the Foils will have Alternate Text.

I don't think changing the text on all the foils makes them all rarities. They are still standard edition cards.

Wow! Looks like I have to have these AA Foils too, similar to the AA Unhinged foils. :-D

Hi Tim.
Don't you think that they belong in the Magic Rarities section with the others as Irregular Foil Standard Cards?

Irregular Standard Cards
Portal Alternate Text Cards
Starter 2 Player Starter Set Cards
Eighth Edition Box Set Cards
Ninth Edition Box Set Cards
Unhinged Special Foils
Unhinged Ultra-Rare Cards
X Edition Foils Alternate Text Cards

They do fit in that category, but it depends on how many foils are different. If the most foils, from all languages, in 10th edition are different from the standard edition, then it's not a rarity anymore. Also if this become the standard for all sets in the future then that creates an even bigger problem.

I would agree that these 10X foils are just standard cards. And now I am curious to see the next block when it comes out - will all new foils be looking this way? I think it makes sense to do this.
However, on the flip side, base sets like X, the abilities are more widely known and understood and do not necessarily require explanation. For new sets (new block) chances are good that more new abilities will be made available - and for that reason, perhaps the foils will still look like the non-foil counterparts. If this is the case, perhaps 11 Edition will also have the foils without explanation. In any case, from what I read, all the X fols will be without explanation, which makes them standard cards, not special rarities.

Hi Alexis.

Maybe the Gatherer should give us some help doing that:

Look at this sample, did you notice that the picture of this card doesn't have any flavor text, instead the side text (red marked) does have one? :-\'
