new promo card alert: how could we all miss this???

I was just wrapping up my work on the Junior Super Series section when I stumbled upon the known oddity that the Slith Firewalker had a collector's number of E03 instead of J03. While adding a note that this must be a misprint, I noticed that some of the new scans I had also had an "E" instead of a "J". And not only that. The logo in the text box said "Junior Series" instead of "Super Series"! And then it hit me: There are actually TWO versions of each English JSS card since 2003, one given out in the USA (labelled Super Series and coded "J") and another one given out in Europe (labelled Junior Series and coded "E"). How could we all have been missing this for THREE years!? I feel totally dumb!

:-O :-|| >:-(

Well this sucks. It will be harder to get both versions now, especially in mint condition since so much time has passed. Oh well, more to get I guess.

I've all but given up on collecting promo cards. They're too expensive, and there's just too damn many of 'em.

Alexis: If you do obtain spares and are willing to part with thr European ones, keep me in mind. I still need to check mine when I get home, but would almost be 100% certain I have the US versions solely.

Gosh Ralph ...
I was thinking it was just some variant for the Logo... never check the numbers...
I must change my glasses I think... :-/
The european ones will be harder to find I think ... :-||

Happy end of year everybody ;-)

This is the joy of never collecting anything until well after it leaves T2 status. Finding it mint might be tougher, and the price might be higher, although it is often lower after the hype dies down. But at least I can let someone else figure out what it is that I need to collect! :-\ :-\

Hi, I got the Assassin, Elder, Phoenix and Firewalker with J and E now, but what about the Giant Growth and the 2HD Dragen from 2003? Do they exist also with E and J? :-\

Hm, I thought the Hammer is from 2002?
I'm working on this case too, 'till yet there's no-one who has ever seen a
Giant Growth 1/2 E03 nor a Two-Headed Dragon 2/2 E03. I'll have to pick up the Hammer in my search too :-/ ...

Hi Chris.
I have already contacted about 20 Collectors ans Sellers of JSS in Paris(Not buying or getting cards in the US)....None of them have the Junior Series Logo,so,I think that the First variation took place with the Slith Firewalker,I'm 99% positive.

The (European) Junior Series was introduced in 2003 or 2004 (I have to investigate this), so there can not be a different Volcanic Hammer.

Hi,

I've replies from about 20 Ebay traders from all over the world right now. As soon as I've all the replies, I think it's sure that the Firewalker was the first. Most of them didn't know about that and I started a massive search for those cards :-) ;-)

I'll let you know ASAP.

Chris
