Magic cards in Russian, starting with Ninth Edition! Quite interesting. Wonder how easy they'll be to get for my Bear collection, though...

I agree.
Now, this is quite interesting... How much do you guys think this will affect the prices of asian 'pimp' foils?
Thoughts?
Re: A new language (mostly)
It probably won't effect them much. Asian languages will still be the most popular.
Re: A new language (mostly)
Yay! A new language of foil lands to collect....
...now who do we know from Russia...

Re: A new language (mostly)
It'll be interesting to see if the foils are russian - remember, the first few sets of S-Chinese cards with foils had ENGLISH foils in the packs!

Does Russia have any weird laws that would cause WotC to use alternate art?

Russia? I wouldn't bet on it.l0qii wrote:Does Russia have any weird laws that would cause WotC to use alternate art?
Re: A new language (mostly)
I'm from Israel but Russian is my mother tongue and I think I have some connections in Russia to get some booster boxes for original Russian prices :)
The foils should be in Russian too, unless the printing house just screws it... I guess this is less likely to happen in 2005 for 9th edition than in 1998 (?) for Chinese.
Russia is not any longer communist, it is declared as democracy but behaves as anarchy - so ANYTHING is allowed there right now, including the Magic art [smiley=laugh.gif]

While that's not true (Simplified Chinese Fifth was white-bordered), indeed Russian Ninth will be black-bordered.piley wrote:FINALLY!!!
