These prices are totally bonkers. $60+ on barely miscut Revised basics. The guy leading a lot of the bidding is this dude:

I'm not sure who this one is:

So, these recent pickups:

Look to be from the same sheet as the recently ebayed miscuts. Some of the corners on them look a bit questionable.

We sold a set of revised uncut sheets with MTG backs in April of this year to a buyer in Wilmington NC, the same location as the seller of these misprints.

I have no idea if this Ebay seller is the same person as the buyer of the sheets but my Spidey Sense is tingling.........

And yet he's shelling out $700 or so for a set of Japanese foil Brainstorms?

*shrug* I was skeptical when i was buying mine at first, but they match up with other magic cards when held up next to each other perfectly, and the edges are crisp.

Just FYI, I have a few misc cards that I got from one of the guys selling this stuff, and I was looking at one of the Revised miscuts today, and it is not 100% exactly the size of a regular card. The borders are off just that tiniest of an inch. So at this point I am positive that this is from a sheet. And all that Revised stuff on Ebay right now--Fastbond, Shivan, whatever; it's all cut-up.

All cut up. Except the Ice Age presumably.

They're cut from a sheet, so they're not exactly real cards.

The fact is that it's quite convenient to create miscuts from whole sheets, as I posted about my miscut Workshop here: http://www.magiclibrarities.net/forum/v ... t=workshop

Seeing an obviously manually cut Tundra go for $1,000+ is quite an incentive for potential sellers...

Of course this doesn't mean these items are outright fakes, but the fact is that they did not come out of the factory like that and people should somehow consider this... the same applies to the French FBB common cards, coming from a sheet that was cut up in dozens of versions, including the ridicuolous sideway miscut up On Ebay right now.

When I saw Matt Kurtin's in person, I knew right away they were the same thing. The corners were too sharply cut and didn't line up with any corners on the regular cards.

You'd better stay away from these, everyone.

Thanks for verifying my suspicions. I was interested in the Doppelganger, but it just didn't look right. Now I know.....

If I remember correctly, there was a miscut revised underground sea about a year ago (maybe more?) that fetched a large sum. After that, you started seeing a pretty steady influx of revised miscuts for auction. They would often come in waves by the same few people.
