"Mark Tedin himself sold this piece to us, thus we offer a 100% authenticity guarantee on the priceless work of art."

Something about that leaves a bad taste in my mouth, along with the 6-figure asking price. I did however, like the video interview with Mark Tedin. The attempt at a video interview with Richard Garfield was also amusing. Richard's body language said "I've signed your slabs, now I must go".

I love how that dude doesn't appear to have sold any of his PSA/BGS junk, judging by his feedback and completed items.

That Juzam's worth MUCH less than that. Maybe 10-20k, max.

Art looks a lot worse than I imagined. It looks sharp on the card though. Seller tried to buy art from me before. Came across as decent but optimistic...

Honestly, I told my wife last evening if the piece was 10K, It'd be out of our savings and it would be mine. I think 10K is still a very high price, but it would be worth it to me.
When I think of Magic there are only a few images that come to my mind immediatly:
Black Lotus
Juzam Djinn
Ancestral Recall
Yawgmoth's Will
Academy
Tinker
Necro

I have Tinker and would be THRILLED to own any of the others...

and for anyone that's interested:
Black Lotus - no idea of it's where abouts
Juzam Djinn - on Ebay
Ancestral Recall - Alt. Art. vintage prize= Roland Chang still owns it; original unknown
Yawgmoth's Will - no idea of it's where abouts
Academy - Rumor has it, it is hanging in Mike Guptils bathroom (which pains me greatly)

I am constantly trying to locate those pieces for myself and Erhnam and Shivan for a few members here.
Tinker - In my livingroom
Necro - no idea of it's where abouts

The original Shivan, I have been told is in Japan in a private collectors hands. It's unattainable.

Giancola's Shivan is in the Northeast US, and will never go back up for sale.

I found the Beatdown Erhnam for Eddie, so he's got that one now.

Wow... incredible piece, but as it's being sold by Mr. Chang... :-P

The seller's name is Dan Chang and he's been the subject of some discussion over on the PSA boards. There are many in the graded community who do not care for him personally or professionally. I've found him pleasant enough, but very much in this strictly to make a buck. By his own admission he only played the game once or twice, and when he sees a nice item all it becomes is a $$$ to him. In addition, most of his prices are rather... optimistic.

While I have nothing against those who collect only and never play, or those who deal to make a buck or 2 on MtG, most everyone I run into seems to have some sort of passion for the game in general - be it player, collector, or dealer. Dan's only passion seems to be making money, and I do find that a little offputting, personally.

Just my $.02 worth.

Take it easy,
Jared

"There is, however, one exception to this rule. If a thread is sufficiently laughable, you may post to ridicule the poster. For example, someone offering to buy cards at half market value or selling at twice market value, or someone with zero refs demanding everyone send first, or an obvious rip attempt may all be safely ridiculed. Try not to be too mean. "

I read this on another known MtG place, could this fit for this auction too? lol
