an unforseen break

Post by Ralph Herold » Sat Dec 16, 2006 9:10 pm

Dear customers,

Without further notice, my graphics adapter ceased its cooperation with my other hardware components yesterday night permanently. Rumor has it that it was mobbed by the ancient new scanner device I had welcomed into the team the same day (a star photographer who claimed to make a super model out of even the ugliest foil card). I was able to hire a new graphics adapter today, but he is not up to the job, and I will have to find a suitable replacement. Until then, my production of website updates will be severly cut down. I am sorry for this inconvenience.

The graphics adapter should be equally sorry for that inconvenience! :)

A new graphics adapter has been lured into service quicker than anticipated and the production queue is heating up at the very moment. The scanner has revealed to be an impostor and has been fired.

Yes, I will return it. I do not think that the scanner indeed damaged my graphics adapter, though. It is more likely that the graphics adapter broke under the weight of the many system restarts I had to do in order to try different configurations.
