service for members: hosting avatars

Post by Ralph Herold » Tue Jun 29, 2004 3:07 am

Dear members,

Over time, I noticed that different people have problems with their avatars. Some providers seem to cause trouble, others do not wish to sign up just to upload a 1KB image file. Therefore, I have decided to offer hosting avatars for this forum. If you are interested, just send me your avatar. I will upload it and let you know the URL to access it.

Thanks Ralph, I sent you mine.  All the free web hosting sites now have blocking tools to directly prevent linking to them.  Since I host very little else, I cannot justify signing up for hosting service for just an avatar.

grrrr!  it took me two friggin hours to kill diablo with my lvl 30 paladin (i had a lopsided paladin, so i had to use a bow and arrow, heh :))!!!  i don't want to spend another 2 hours!!!

What size (in pixels) should the avatars be?  My AIM one is showing up blurry, b/c the AIM avatars are smaller, so the bulletin board "stretches" it.  I can resize it, but I need to know the size to make it.

Now if we could just get Alexis to get an avatar.  Someone who talks as much as he does should be required to hav e an avatar.

I vote Alexis takes over the fabled "boobies.gif".  At least it would give us something interesting to look at when he posts (just kidding Alexis...couldn't avoid the opportunity to poke fun).
