I'm a squirrel!

Post by fvzappa » Fri Jan 21, 2005 7:28 am

I'm officially a squirrel, or whatever species the Infernal Spawns are from Unglued/ Unhinged.

Long story short, I have a 3 foot by 2 foot giant custom card of the Infernal Spawn of Evil. Ron Spencer drew a "card" around an 8x11 print of the artwork... so when the ISOISOE came out in Unhinged, I had to do something to go along with my gigantic card.

And here it is, a drawing of me, as well as my 3 sisters, on ISOISOE artist proofs.

Now, Ron Spencer will gladly do custom stuff for you, if you think its worth the time & money I suggest you do! I can remember not too long ago we mentioned talking about artist that were godd/bad/otherwise, RS did an awesome job making sure these were what I wanted. I also got some 8x11's, as well as the pencil sketch of the ISOISOE! All were fantastic.

Anyone interested in contact info & specifics, PM me. Also, it may be on Wizard's site somewhere.

I am now in the process of telling my sisters they are in, as well as getting ahold of Ron to thank him. The "look" of all 4 is fairly accurate, I know my sisters will flip. My SIZE 14 shoes go perfect on the card...

$50 per card, done on AP backs. The AP's cost $35 each. Add that to the 8x11's & the ISOISOE original sketch I got, & you can guess Ron Spencer got a bit of $$ from me...

I am wondering, Are AP's only more than 5 bucks when you don't see them in person.  I have several from John Matson, Tereasa Nielson, and others that were all 5 bucks and less.  Is this an encouragment to not order them from their sites?

I don't mean to sound cheap, but I want the most bang for my buck.  Any thoughts?

AP prices vary by artist.  Ron Spencer is simply more expensive than many other artists.

For the quality of the work I think fvzappa got a tremendous deal.  There is very, very little worthwhile original (as in non-reproduction) art that can be had for $50.

In-freaking-credible.  I wanna be an Infernal Spawn of Evil, too!

Though I do find it funny that the thread title is "I'm a squirrel!"

My first impression was that the ISOE was a squirrel. Maybe its a rat, who knows. But RS never corrected me either way...

As far as AP's they do vary. Heck, even when I met RS he had them ranging in prices from $5 to $100 each. So, if you are lucky enough to like an unpopular card, perhaps things are cheaper.
