Some odd mtg items/misprints....

Post by card-guy » Wed Jan 21, 2004 3:57 pm

Hi all,

Have been lucky enough over time to pick up some damn unusual mtg items and was just wondering:

a) how rare they are - you guys should know
b) what they might be worth (this should not imply that i'm looking to sell them tho)

1stly, fallen empires double prints

picked up a 9-10 cards where each card has 2 pictures and 2 lots of text - i.e. 2 functionally different cards superimposed on on the other - can only assume that some muppet took a printed common sheet and then run it through the uncommon press - look really eerie in some cases - i've seen examples on ebay of FE cards printed front and back but these are the only ones i've seen of this type

2ndly, a whole mis-cut sliver precon deck

3rdly, an orange/red goblin tinkerer from mirage (and i mean orange/red! - where is the rest of this sheet!

any thoughts?

Ralph IS an AMAZING name more of you should have it.

RALPH LEWIS (my name) Translates to WOLF / COUNCIL

ALSO:

RALPH   m   English
Pronounced: RALF, RAYF
Short form of RADULF. A famous bearer was Ralph Waldo Emerson, a 19th-century American poet and author who wrote on transcendentalism.

I hope to see scans of this stuff soon, I'm interested in a few of the double prints.

I have one, from FE. Paid $10 for it. It is Spore Flower/ Dwarf of some sort.

I'd have to say the best thing about Fallen Empires is all the misprints!

As for the Sliver deck, let's see how miscut...

Double print e.g. is a mindstab thrull & an i.store, pink goblin is also up now.

Ralph, will bring the summer, bring skads of cash and we'll see what we'll see - only certainty is i won't be breaking up the summer atog collection!

Hi Cardguy.
Nice Scans but the PRICE  :o :o :o :o ??? ??? ???
You told me you have offers at 180$(100£)  :D
Well for 60$ you can get a  much better Misprint, like this One,and From a Shop:
Wording in text box is double-printed (looks very blurry, but look closely and you can see the wording was printed twice, and it's not done well, as the second printing is not on top of, but rather offset with the first printing)

In my defence:

1) i am an internet trader (shop if you will)

2) Re: Pricing - Again its a matter of supply and demand - as i mentioned in the original posting, i'm not actually looking to sell these so its more of a case of what offer would make me part with them (they are part of my private collection).

The post was more about making the community aware of them and  finding out how rare they are compared to other misprints, and the response seems to indicate that they are indeed extremely rare if not unique.  If, as i, suspect only one sheet went through twice (and remember for this to happen it would have to go through both the common and uncommon press) then each double printed card would be unique - obviously value is in the eye of the buyer but to me, this makes them quite valuable - much more so than FE/Wyvverns for which multiple print runs seem to exist

Hi Cardguy.
So I believe Fvzappa made a Great Deal  ::)
have one, from FE. Paid $10 for it. It is Spore Flower/ Dwarf of some sort.

To buy this type of Misprint at 60$ in a MTG Shop in US.
Is still a Good Deal under your theory  :)

So why in the Hell,I never purchased so many offers at 10/15$ with the same kind of Misprints  ???
Probably because I'm not a Full Misprint Collector and also since they seem so Commons(Like so many Misprints),I do believe,I can get them anytime for Really cheap  ;)

so this is one agreed, who is selling these at 60US - can you let me have the web address? - only ask as i've never seen these for sale anywhere - at least not ones with 2 cards superimposed one on top of another - i too have examples of where a card sheet has been through the same press twice producing a slight offsetting of the same card, but these are entirely different.
