has anyone seen this all rare booster. Ipersonally opened a tempest booster with 2 rares Coffin Queen and Tradewind rider and opened a Invasion Tournamint Pack with 4 rares. Also opened a MM tournament pack with 4 foils but never seen a full pack of rares.

Re: Urban legend all rare booster
i have nemesis packs with no commons. three uncommons and twelve rares. i snagged them off ebay so it wasn't something that i just opened. i have fun seeding a draft with a pack or two and watching people's faces when they open them.

Re: Urban legend all rare booster
I could tell you the worst story: :'(
Back in the year 1997, a friend of mine and me bought
a "The Dark" booster each(~19 DM = 10 Euro ~ 12 USD).
It was very expensive for that days. I pulled 1 rare (can't remember) and crappy UC/C. But he pulled:
Maze of Ith, Leviathan, Reflecting Mirror AND Ball Lightning. I SWEAR !!!
Isn't that the "best" story? Ok, i know, these are nearly worthless nowadays, but in these days and at that age :-[
Greetings

Re: Urban legend all rare booster
When Onslaught came out, I purchased a starter simply so I'd get basic land for my set. I pulled 9 rares. I bought all of the rest that they had, & got an average of 6 rares per starter.
I saw Revised packs that were all rares opened years ago.

Re: Urban legend all rare booster
I haven't personally seen all rare boosters, but I did find a box of Legends that had rares in the uncommon slots.

Re: Urban legend all rare booster
I've seen boosters with multiple rares, but no all rare boosters:
examples:
Revised: one booster box with 16 cards, double rare (mine!)
Ice Age: two booster boxes with no uncommons, four rares (store discovered it, still sold the packs at retail, but only one pack per customer per visit)
Tempest: a couple of packs with no rares, extra uncommon (prizes at a PTQ, I got one of those >:()
Urza's Legacy: 1 all foil pack (at the prerelease, guy next to me openned it, almost fell out of my chair, he did.)
Odyssey: 1 booster box with a completely random distribution of cards. Some packs had 17 cards, while one pack had 3 cards. The sorter messed up big on that box. (at the prerelease, I was in the draft, they broke out another box for the draft)
There was some others that I cannot recall exactly where they were from. So the all Rare pack probably happens, just rarely.
Pardon the pun....

Re: Urban legend all rare booster
Personally I have opened an 8th ed pack with two rares (neither of them i exactly wanted).
Now for the part of the message to shake things up a bit. I remember back in the days of Mirage a person opened a starter deck that was entirely rares. Now scoring 60 rares made the set really easy to make.
Also I have seen complete deck of Atogs opened. This was cool just because.

Re: Urban legend all rare booster
I've seen Revised boosters with 3 rares per pack. I also remember something weird with Legends packs having too many rares, but I don't remember what it was. I don't have any sealed anymore, but both were sold in the Rochester area, and I remember everyone stampeding to the stores to buy them out once the word got out.

Re: Urban legend all rare booster
I never get any misprinted/mispacked boosters. Unless you count the time I opened a tournament pack of Invasion and the tab had crumpled two of the cards. Because that'svaluable!

Re: Urban legend all rare booster
The only strange pack I opened was a Revised pack in which cards had a 1994 copyright ... What a crap!!
;D
More seriously, the only mispacking I have ever experienced was a 4th or 5th edition pack in wich the rare was upside down compared to other cards.
Not really exciting isn't it?
Ok, I don't open packs often ...
:)
Eric.

Re: Urban legend all rare booster
There is a swap meet in the city of industry in LA where you can buy starters for $5, and about 5 years ago I got a 5th edition starter for kicks. after I left, I went to a restaurant with some friends and opened it...every single uncommon slot was filled with a rare!!!! I left my friends, drove back, and bought the rest of the starters in the box (5 or 6). I think 4 of them were like that - 15 rares per starter. Too bad it was 5th - the best thing I got was wrath and geddon. Got a LOT of crappy rares, but it was certainly worth $5.
