Scourge misprints

Post by themike314 » Tue May 18, 2004 9:06 am

Hello all.

I searched for a thread pertaining to this, but was unable to locate one, so here goes:

I opened a box of Scourge last week and found misprints on Coast Watcher and Frozen Solid, both in the borders, but in different locations.  They are similar in nature - a silver circle-like shape.  The shape is the same on each of the same cards.

They were not on every copy of those cards.  (6 Coast Watchers, 3 misprints; 7 Frozen Solid, 3 misprint)

Are these common printing errors?

Here are some images of these cards:

I don't believe something like this has been mentioned yet, though I just found a similar mark on a card I received.
Myr Matrix that I got today has this similiar mark on the top border close to the left hand side.

Though maybe Squt might know more, as he specializes in misprints and oddities.

that type of error occurs sometimes when a hair or something sneaks into the printing mechanisms.  The next however-many sheets have that wacky error, but then it goes back to normal.  I haven't got much interest in them, and no one I know does, but hey, there's gotta be someone.  I mean crimps?? really!

I think Dry_Cereal got it right.

Sometimes a small insect gets crushed within the printing machine and an 'image' of what remains from the insect is printed on all sheets at the same place until they clean the machine.

I saw a pack opened a while ago that -literally- had a squashed cockroach or something in the pack.

cool, maybe that's what they mean by "premium cards"

I think mtg fossils are a good idea.

I wanna find one with a white shape of a crushed tiny man.

Mmmm... bugs in cards. Sounds like a Garbage Pail Kids kind of thing.

I have a few Exodus cards that have imprints of hair on them. Not like the Runesword bit, but some actual depth to them that go across the cards in a haphazard manor. They are unusual & interesting to say the least.

I never opened a booster pack containing pubes, but TWICE i've found such hairs in toploaders or soft sleeves together with the cards I got, trading internationally >_>
I don't want to know what they do with their cards :'(
I'm too nice to leave them negative feedback/refs for it though, I just didn't say anything... But well, not a pleasant surprise *shudder*

As I had mentioned before in another thread - perhaps you purchased something from this seller??    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... eaday.com/
Not completely terrible thinking what this person might do with auctions.   ;D

I've come across two more Coast Watchers with the same error.

So there are more out there...

Anyone else have pics of similar errors?
