MR C - I guess I didn't know that so many creature types had changed between beta and WB, although i guess it makes sense since they changed so many names! Does anyone have any idea for why this would happen?

Agzz - thanks for all of your hard work - this list is incredible. I'm a little confused about the Forcefield listing, as to my knowledge, it was never printed in italian.

According to this site, there is no BB Italian Badger.

Keep up the amazing work!

Perhaps he is saying that the word in Italian translates to 'forcefield' in English? Which would kinda be a similar issue, I suppose..

I guess they have added all cards available in english to their database and made italian translatations of thoose not available in italian. about the badger i dont know tough

I took a look at the database Mr.C linked to and it looks ok. But it lacks two 8th cards and most portal 2 and maby some more. I'll have a go at it tomorrow to see if how complete a list i can get out of it.

also i'll try to scribble a program together this weekend.

Bear in mind two 8th edition cards (from the starter set) were not released in portuguese.

Also, http://magiccards.info/ has most of the translations, but, they arent perfect. Portuguese Portal 2 consists of only a few cards.

If I remember well, in French:
-"Rolling stones" has two differents translations: "Pierres mouvantes" (Str) and "Pierres agressives" (7th)
-"Sacred ground" becomes "Sol sacré" (Str) or "Sol consacré" (7th)
-"Annul" becomes "Cassation" (Urza's saga) or "Dissolution" (mir)
-"Siphon soul" is either translated by "Siphon des âmes" (6th) or "Siphonner l'âme" (ons)
-"Lay waste" becomes "Saccage" (Urza's saga) or "Terre usée" (ons)
-"Elvish Champion" is a man ("Champion Elfe") on 7th and 8th, but a girl ("Championne Elfe") on Invasion
-"Stalking stones" are translated by "Pierres mouvantes" (tem) or "Pierres en chasses" (mir)

These are the only I can remember, hope it helps.

More like 40 something.

For example, there is no Armageddon in Portuguese P2, but, it proabably is translated in the Database.

As with the others i want one of each if someone have spares.

Any good databases for German, French and Spanish?

Ok, I have to ask on these 2....

In english these cards mean nothing even remotely similar. Douse means 'to throw a bunch of water on something' or 'plunge into water' or even 'to put out (as in a fire)' whereas Swelter means 'To suffer from excessive heat' (tho archaically it means 'To Exude').

So, what is the actual translation of Abafar?

May i ask how you did that?

Also, there are some inconsistencies... I'll check them tomorrow, but, there are some wierd things on this list.

But, sincerely, thanks a LOT! Gave us crazy misprint collectors a nice hand ;)

Are you a programmer, or what?

What i did was after getting everything into an MS access database i made a querry that sorted out every portugese name in there more than ones. from that selection i made a new querry sorting out every english name only present ones in that first selection. (then the other way around)
So if there are a card A available in 2 sets called B and two sets where its callec C - it will not show up.
There is probibly a simple comand to fix that but i dont know it.
