Amazing find !

Post by ende73 » Fri Apr 01, 2005 7:10 pm

Hello,

I just came back from a trading session with my MTG buddies, and this is what I came back with:

Image

:o :o :o

It is a completely miscolored Ice Age card, lacking color and pretty dark too, and it is ALSO very badly miscut showing the cards Prismatic Ward and Mountain Goat.
Beside it is a normal 4th edition BoP for comparison. The back of the card is perfectly normal MTG (maybe just slightly dark, but we see many of those).

It is the very first time I see something like this  :D

What do you reckon it's worth ?  ???

Nice 'misprint'.

Post it again tomorrow, and i'll give you a value assessment.

For the moment, $1.

Did yu]ou notice the white mana symbol is the old one, too?
I collect foils and FBB Base Sets. PM me.

I guess I'll hold onto it for $1  ::)

Yes, the Mana symbol on Prismatic Ward is the old one, but this is true for all Prismatic Wards and Hlygias from the English Ice Age set.

Mr. C pointed out another strange fact about the Misprint, i.e. that Prismatic Ward shows the old white mana symbol (the Beta one) rather than the new one like all other white Ice Age cards.

I replied saying that actually this is a standard known misprint for 2 IA English cards (if I recall correctly): Prismatic Ward and "Hlygia".

I spelled the name of the latter card horribly and Axios corrected me: Fylgja.

Back on Topic: don't you people think this card is cool  ??? I had guessed it'd raise more enthusiasm. I can assure you the scan is authentic and the .jpg has not been tampered with.

I think that it's darn cool.  An albino that's so seriously miscut is a great find.

Hello guys,

stop, stop, stop... it was indeed an April Fool's  :P [smiley=cheeky.gif] [smiley=idea.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=ok.gif]

On April 2nd I simply posted that the scan is authentic and the .jpg file is unaltered... and both statements are true since it's a scan of a photocopy of my otherwise perfetcly "normal" miscut....

Well, after all you guys are all too bright, I failed to fool you completely [smiley=dissappointed.gif] [smiley=dead.gif]... just like MRM and Celebrindor.

I'll study something better for next year  [smiley=evil.gif]

you could tell that you trimmed the edges poorly in the pic.
