new Arena promo lands discovered?
I was presented with the following information per email:
...
I'd like to point out that in year 2000, Arena League did have
promotional basic lands. These were handed over upon hitting the
15-point mark, and are almost exact replicas of Mercadian Masques basic
lands, except for the shooting star at the bottom being smaller (As you
know, premium cards from sets Urza's Legacy, Urza's Destiny and
Mercadian Masques featured a large shooting star. Beginning with
Nemesis, the size of the star was decreased - this one was used on the
Arena League basic lands as well)
These cards were:
Forest #349 (illus. by Rob Alexander) for the "Uktabi Orangutan" season
Island #338 (illus. by Tony Szczudlo) for the "Chill" season
Plains #334 (illus. by Edward P. Beard,Jr.) for the "Enlightened Tutor"
season
Swamp #340 (illus. by Rob Alexander) for the "Stupor" season
Unfortunately, I don't know the card of the "Pillage" season, only that
it was a Mountain.
...
The owner of these cards said they were given out in Hungary. He was kind enough to send me scans:
- promo Plains: http://www.magiclibrary.net/temp/arena-plains.jpg
- promo Island: http://www.magiclibrary.net/temp/arena-island.jpg
- promo Swamp: http://www.magiclibrary.net/temp/arena-swamp.jpg
- promo Forest: http://www.magiclibrary.net/temp/arena-forest.jpg
- regular Plains (for comparison): http://www.magiclibrary.net/temp/regular-plains.jpg
I was very surprised to learn about this, especially because to my knowledge, during this time, the Urza's Saga promo lands were reissued. Any further information to shed some light onto this mystery is appreciated.

These were also released in the US through Arena. I was only ever able to get Plains and Mountains. Unfortunately I only have a sealed pack of 10 Mountains so my scan can't be used for the site.
