European Mail Delays

Post by Magik321 » Sat May 22, 2010 3:16 am

Hi,

Due to the volcanic ash situation, mail to Europe have seen some delays. Can any European members roughly estimate how long the packages are delayed for, be it sent from Asia/US to Europe (generally France, Germany, Hungary and Finland). I'm specifically asking for packages that are sent exactly when the volcanic ash incident occured.

I'm asking this because I have a good number of European buyers from the countries mentioned, who never received anything for a month or so after I sent via registered mail. Out of all of them, only 2 received the package, and it took roughly a month to get to them. None of the rest of the buyers have received anything. Everything was sent via registered mail.

Thanks

I've been sending packages from the US to Northern Europe, and have not had any major delays. Mailings have arrived between 5 and 10 business days after shipping, as promised.

Registered mail to europe usually takes 3-4 weeks normally. The last things I sent when the volcano first flared up both got there after 3 weeks, but one of the guys I was sending to was very worried that packages he had sent to the US hadn't arrived after close to 6 weeks.

Only 1 of them called up his post office and gotten a definite answer, and they confirmed that the package is indeed in his country, That person received a few days later, but it took over a month to reach him.

As far as I know, the delayed packages were sent around the 14th to the 19th. Packages sent a week or so before that incident arrived fine.
