Favorite Wines/Beers/Spirits

Post by berkumps » Mon Dec 17, 2007 1:06 am

With such a large group of members from all over the world, I was curious what members favorite wines/beers/spirits were?

For wine, I myself prefer dry Reds, but will drink just about anything.

Don't drink alot of beer, but always interested to try something different.

Liquors/Spirits
Scotch-Whiskey
Rye (on ice or with coke/ginger ale)
Gin (w/ Tonic)

This is definitely off-topic Mark !

Did you drink too much last night ? Or were you lonesome when you wrote this post ?

When it comes to beer, I prefer Lagers.

I don't drink scotch, gin... Don't like them. I seldom drink alcohol.

Like you Mark, I am a lover of dry red wines -- cabernet sauvignon, zinfandel and pinot noir especially.

I don't drink much beer either, but when I do it's Duvel and Chimay!

I like Scotch usually Teachers as it's the traditional 86 proof although when I have some extra cash, it's single malts. My Xmas present to me is a bottle of Macallan cask strength!

My "X" and tonic is always X = Vodka.

Holiday Cheers,

Ed

As a german I have to admit, yes i love beer!!
In summer I prefer wheat beer followed by pils or a nice lager.
In winter I prefer darker beers like brown ale, bock beer theire higher % makes you get warm faster!

Well to be hoenst as you can see I like all sorts of beer with my prefered one being Pils of all kinds.

One of my verdicts is:
"Between liver and milt's
there allways fits a Pils!"

For Brands, well the bigger the brand the more the beer sucks.

In my first University I was in a City called Bamberg, they have the highest concentration per inhabitant of Breweries in the world. That was like paradies, I realy now wonder why I was kicked out of university after two years. There was one town, cant remeber which, under 1000 people lived there and they had 3 breweries!!

Worst thing you can do is drink Foreign beer in germany or german beer somewhere else. As also beeing half italian I sometimes like a Wine too, especialy to a great meal. Did you ever try to take a case of table wine you loved in italy to where you life? I once tryed it was just not the same.

The flair and all need to come together.

Higher % things generaly I try to stay away regarding a regular basis. but sometimes some nice Schnaps after a heavy meal helps Wonders!

EDIT: Please don't try to interpret anything in the last sentence!!

Like every normal German I like ...

... Scotch

and beer of course. But if I can choose I'll prefer the Scotch.
My favourites are Single Malts from Bowmore, but the "everyday" Scotch right now is a simple Johnnie Walker Black Label.

Belgian Beer

Post by equi-nox76 » Wed Dec 19, 2007 1:03 pm

Since I live in cologne I prefer Kölsch (all brands).
Of course all sorts of Belgian beer are good to, the most delicious is kriek (beer with cherry juice) :-P
