Do you notice any differences in the Japanese cardstock?

From my JP Eternal Masters box--the good:
Image

The bad:
No other rare (or Mythic) over $10 :-({|=

The ugly:
Only 1 of the following UNC---Chain Lightning, Rancor, Mishra's, Swords. :( Oh, and the boxes I bought cost $280 apiece, and crashed to $215 at the time of me posting this. Ouch x2.

Still have another box coming, that is arriving late. Took a total beating on most of this. I know, I know--no crying in Magic. Someone trade me a foil dragon rarity and make me feel better.

Just collected 27 Traditional Chinese Boosters to add to my collection, sadly only recent stuff but it has pushed me up to 87% complete after a couple of years bobbing around 86%.

Got them from a seller in Taiwan who kindly picked out one of each different picture for me but one thing jumped out at me straight away...

So what do you think?

I am thinking that there wasn't enough glue, or the sealer was not up to the correct temperature as the ones from Kaladesh are the most affected whilst some of the others are also affected but to a lesser extent. There was little to no packaging in the box and Taiwan is a long way from Australia.

Is there anything in these boosters that would make it worthwhile opening to check for? Worth risking losing a customer over? The cards (the ends of which are clearly visible) don't appear to have been taken out of the packet and I am guessing that you would struggle to search the booster through such a small opening.

If there were rare foils sitting on the top then maybe if you had a really small endoscope then you could poke it in and have a look but I am not sure of the card orientation so probably opening at the other end would have been easier for this?

Uggg, I would think the boosters were opened and glued back together (poorly). I don't think that is a WOTC sealing issue, I think its a dishonest seller. Think you probably got ripped off (JMHO).

I've pulled packs like this out of a sealed booster box before. I guess you'll just have to collect 2 sets now, one sealed normally and to go with this super rare misprint set :-\'

Hi Mark

Just by using a precision scale, you can find out if there's a foil in it, or simply by touching the boosters by hand, according to some posts that I've read. Endoscope, why not, if you are a fan of Grey's Anatomy héhé. At any rate, looking at them, it will look cool if you add a straw in the hole, pretending, you're sipping from a Kaladesh T-Chinese booster.

All I can say is that I noticed the same while cracking a box of Kaladesh — but never before — although the unsealed hole towards the end was less pronounced than in your pic.
I collect land cards, just that.

Ah well, I didn't think there was anything fishy going on but it is nice to have it confirmed.

If I see any other packs come along I will grab them but these will do for now!

Cheers

My second box was amazing....

Popped some lesser stuff like a diving top and entomb, but was mostly junk after that. Popped a Quiet Speculation, that I like--but probably isn't worth that much from a value standpoint.

Well it wouldn't help me to have had a sealed foil Force of Will that would never be opened until I passed away so I guess this still counts as a win!

I got this a couple of weeks ago:

the last card I needed for my first signed Playset. I added it to my collection thread here on the page:
