That's a good point. At least one could have some semblance of completion by stopping the collection at the last true pre-release.
My present thought is that the M-16 "final core set" right after the last 3 expansion block will be just about perfect for and end spot. With the resignation of the core sets "Magic:the Gathering" as it started and was originally designed will cease to exist. The whole new set up, just as outlined by Mark R in his article is focused and centered on the professional/serious player. No matter what kind of tidbits they toss to the casual players in the form of very high cost multiplayer reprints it is easy to see that "gaming" is only a side effect of insuring the "bottom line". this is not said with any malice or sour grapes. It is only a statement of fact as I see it. Much of the production lately has really not been collectable, except to the "gotta get em all" bunch. It is time for me to focus on completing what I have and doing what I can to historically document what I can.
Others will choose other approaches to this subject and I wish each of them well.

Well said. I will say WotC did a reasonable job supporting EDH to have a "legitimate" outlet for Kitchen Table players, so there's that at least.

Wow... awesome stuff Markus. Did you buy them or get them signed yourself? Either way, very cool.
Take it easy,
Jared

Thanks Jared
A friend attended a convention in September where both Dermot and Rob were signing...But both of them were VERY reluctant to sign Magic cards. Especially this friend had cards for about 10 people with him.
One of the reasons signed sets are so difficult to do. Most people "only" had 8 - 12 cards (4 Rewind & 4 Reanimate & 4 Ruination) but I needed everything once ;-)

I know this will be "oh, humm" to most of you but I am excited.
Got my first "taped" card. An not off the net. Guy pulled this right here in Colorado Springs and saved it for me.
He also gave me the sq corner Khans card--just for kicks.

I am quite happy. It is more that they were found local and i know the guy that pulled them. Makes it a little more real in some way.

AB-SOOOO-LUTELT beautiful.... A wonderful display.
I thin the size problem is related to your Stronghold set picture.
Keep up the good work.
