How big is your collection?

Quality aside, just how many Magic cards do you own? Do you try to stay within a certain limit or just let it grow? At what point does extra bulk become unmanageable?

How could anyone get by on less than 20000 cards? I'm somewhere between 40k to 60k and it doesn't seem like too much. There's so much left to collect, and you still need cards to play with, as well as ones to give away to people that have just started playing. I'll be happy when I move to bigger house so that I can move my collection out of the basement.

I think I'm just about breaching 20k, it actually isn't THAT hard to stay under it, especially with the shipping prices from the US to Sweden for big lots/collections...
I can't imagine ever having an "unmanagable" amount of cards though, having a few hundred thousand that literally took weeks to sort wouldn't be a bad thing for me... But there goes the shipping issue again :-(
Despite being more or less worthless... I like bulk :)

I know it sounds impossible :) But I think there are a lot of people who keep collections of this size.

I've always been a buyer, and rarely had time to be a seller. As a result I have almost 100,000 cards that I eventually need to get rid of. That will reduce my collection to a managable 30,000 to 40,000.

I have an entire walk in closet filled with floor to ceiling shelves. Every card is alphabetized by color and type. I am nearing 150,000 cards. I REALLY have a problem.

Commons are literally falling out of my ass. >:-(

I just sold off all my bulk once again so I am down to about 2000 cards. Whenever I reach 10000 cards I sell off all the bulk. Its always nice to turn a bunch of bulk into a couple duals.

That's sort of how I feel about it. I use the same analogy even when convincing myself why I don't need all those extra commons.

With my stock of cards for my small business, i recently broke the 250k mark with more being added on a weekly basis.

I know the feeling. Rather than sell cards, I would sort while watching TV at night. In addition to tens of thousands of loose commons, sorted by set and alphabetically, I also have incredible numbers of common sets. As an example, I think I have at least 120 ice age common sets.

I've managed to keep it under 10k cards for a few years now.
Too much stuff out there, so we've pretty much limited it to promos, angels, a few sentimental faves, signed goodies, and original artwork.

And here I thought 20 sets of RV commons was bad!

Ever since I started playing limited competively, every set after onslaught block (came back in onslaught) I have at least 40 of each common......This is what I get for drafting 4~5 times a week.
