Italian FWB Counterspells

Post by Jakobmunk1981 » Sat Mar 14, 2015 12:45 pm

After looking a bit on the website i stumbled on this thread: http://www.magiclibrarities.net/forum/v ... php?t=2383
It seems the FWB Italian counterspell i own is the one with "slash" over the I.
So i want to ask if someone have the two other versions for sale, as well as a 4th edition Italian counterspell.
I think buying them here ensures me that the people i ask for them know what they are selling, unlike MKM or Ebay.

Thanks, Jakob Sørensen

Hello, I agree that you're looking in the right place for hard to find cards.

Unfortunately, we don't know enough about this subject matter. It needs more research. For Italian Counterspells, you will find...
Italian Foreign Black Border (Italian Edition, same cards as Revised)
Italian Foreign White Border (Italian Second Edition, same cards as Revised)
Italian 4th Edition (there is not an Italian 3rd edition)

We know that at least some cards in Italian FWB have more than one version, but it might only be some cards in the set, not all of the cards.

It seems that most of the bold copyright cards use the regular slash over the i. That Channel, and maybe a Lure are the only cards I've heard of that might be FWB and use the dot over the i. I'd really like a closer look at them if anyone could assist with that. Until then, you could be looking for a card that doesn't exist.

Here is some more information on the subject...

Hi,
I live in Italy but i didn't See this before.
I start playing with Ice age but my friends start collecting MTG since the FBB

1994 We use to call "First edition" - Black border (FBB)
1995 "Second and Fourth Edition . Second has dark color , both with white border
1997 Fifth Edition

1995 Revised we use to call this "3rd edition" - eng white border

I think i have some 2nd and 4th edition , let me See 👍

It seems that determining what is second and what is fourth edition seems easy enough with the counterspells, since the text is centeret differently.

I agree we know not enough about this. So yes, i might be looking for something that does not exist. But if i find it, then we are a card closer to knowing the full extend.

Might be harder to notice the variation on fwb counterspell (if one exists) since it appears to have a black copyright, and not white like a bunch of the other blue cards.

Right, that is one thing i was wondering myself. Why this card have black copyright and most other blue cards have white text?

I predict the the two print runs of It FWB Counterspell look almost the same.
You will have to buy a couple of cards and compare them closely. I was able divide them in two variants:

Left: 1. print run
Middle: artist proof
Right: 2. print run

If you are looking for all print variants, there are a couple of others to find. For instance:
