Re: Foil Kiki Jiki thank you gifts?
Doesn't anyone use scissors or a knife to open packs any more? It seems the fastest, easiest and least damaging method for opening packs. I was opening my Kamigawa boxes a few weeks ago, and the person helping me was using scissors. I poked fun at them for it and they told me I was going to d...

Re: Magic arcade game??
I think the seller made a huge mistake not to include this informational link in his auction. No kidding! A little more info like this and I might have had the motivation to make some call myself. "Only a handful of units shipped (one was spotted in the Tomorrowland arcade at Walt Disney Wor...

I forgot about hastur (www.hasturhobbies.com). I did a lot of business with him in the old days too without a problem. Difficult guy to trade with though.

This guy is great for non-popular singles from all sets. I've been doing business back and forth with him the whole 9 years he's been around.collectmart.com

Re: what online vendors do you buy from?
Potomac is great for boxes/cases. Very reliable. Good selection of foreign stuff. But their prices on new sets have inched higher than a lot of the random competition. That's the price of peace of mind I guess. I still do business with them.

I never saw a RV starter that didn't have 3 rares, unless you count the ones where a basic land ended up in the rare slot.

Re: "restoring" cards
I agree with this destinction.I don't consider it tampering. You're removing gunk that shouldn't be there, not changing the actual card itself.
Also. An eraser is very abbrasive and will scratch the card. a q-tip and a little water works much better.

Re: best card storage?
Seems to be a general trend here. I also have my sets in Ultra Pro pages in D-Ring binders, with only certain key cards also in penny sleeves. Everything else I store in an old 72 drawer library card catalog that I was lucky enough to save from being turned into kindling. Each drawer is about equiva...

faded cards
Does anyone know how well the ink on magic cards holds up under sustained exposure to sunlight? Does it eventually fade to blue like many inks do? I know the booster boxes do, but that's really unrelated. I've never had the patience to leave a card on a window for months to find out, heh. Maybe I sh...
