Logo Art

When this was discussed before, Ralph liked the concept of this art I did for the Magic Madness card Encyclopedic Learning distributed by Souce Comics and Games. It started with a photo of a library in Dublin, Ireland (Trinity College, I think), with assorted added effects and pieces. http://home.at...

New Forum

Hi, Ralph, So far it looks great! :D I was worried when I couldn't get through to it. I know these things happen with servers, etc., and I think you did an excellent job of getting everything back up and running again. I noticed it doesn't automatically carry over the current thread's topic in the S...

Re: the magiclibrary logo dissapeared on the index

Try cleaning out your browser's cache (all the various pictures it's downloaded). This forces it to re-download all images. It's happened to me a couple of times.

Re: Card frame textures

You are correct in that I used a graphics program to clean up a scan: Paint Shop Pro, my favorite.  :) I have no original textures. It's laborious work. I start with a card having the smallest amount of text, then use various methods to eliminate it completely. If it has a recurring pattern, ov...

Re: Card frame textures

Here's some textboxes from the Legend era. The borders are easily trimmed. Is this the kind of thing you're looking for?

Re: Non common Error and Misprint Index

I see no reason to abandon the name Magic Rarities. It defines the site to the community and has a long and respected history. As an additional wing off of the main library page, however, Oddities, Errors, Collectibles, or even Magic Mishaps could provide depth to the overall endeavor.

Re: Taking Plastic Film off of Cards - How to do i

Some of those films can be quite sticky and may peel the card as well. Rubber cement thinner, found at a graphic arts store, is excellent for removing sticky stuff without damaging the paper. Test it first on an expendable card to make sure it doesn't bleed the ink. When finished, it will evaporate ...

Re: Site Suggestion

Here is a link to the sample index I provided Ralph. It hasn't been updated in several months, so I don't know which links work and which don't.

Re: image theft of WotC

i believe it was based off of a picture taken by macone and touched up by victorfrost...
I mean, you're saying that victorfrost recreated this card digitally, using knowledge of the layout and colors and so forth used at the time.

The most obvious is the set symbol: the sliver mirrored. Fake!

I know Ralph has an index on his long list of things to do. I provided a sample index a few months ago. It will come eventually.

Re: portal 3k misprints

I just checked my P3K lands, and all 100+ of them are numbered correctly, each design incrementing as appropriate. They came from an English mix of both precons and boosters. (I don't specifically remember whether I got any from the many boosters I've picked up; it's quite possible they didn't put a...
