Re: Wanted: Beta Black Lotus
Remmber- a steady hand & a good sharp object can turn a beta card into an alpha one. But it can't be done the other way around. The moment Alpha becomes worth more is the day you'll see more "fakes" in this sense. But you all are correct, Alpha is more difficult to come by. I've bought, sold, & trad...

Re: Everybody Check Your "M" Card(s)
I own 3, & they all just barely show it, certainly not something you notice until you go looking for it. All three seem the same as far as the "amount", for lack of better term, of ring.

What other hobbies do you have?
We all have talked about our jobs & what our interests are as far as MTG & misprints, but what other hobbies do we have? You never know, we may have more in common than we think, in some cases. Myself, my other big hobby is anything & everything music. I collect records, go to several concerts, meet...

Re: prototype
Boooo! So what is the deal, I remember these being announced, but I guess they never were? And assuming they ever are, is yours, say, all one color/ easy to differentiate? A few years back I bought some Star Wars prototypes of their diecasts, Boba Fett & Darth Vader. They weren't cheap. They are ligh...

Re: tournament playability of misprints
I think this judge is full of crap, personally. I own a few albino cards, none of which were prototypes. All protypes I've seen have no picture whatsoever- they wouldn't playtest a card AFTER an artist drew the artwork...think about it, if indeed he got it from someone @ Wizards, it was probably jus...

Re: Charlie Brown- this one's new to me
Indeed this is true. I equate them to the "magic eye" things that were poular a while back. At times people take a while to see it.
Every medallion I get my hands on I stare at for awhile, & many people are confused as to why. Obviously not rarities collectors.

Re: tournament playability of misprints
MCM's post rings true in my experience. I have played with several misprints in tournaments, plus loaned out a few for tourney play, inquiring before using, always. This is what I do... this will seem similar to what MCM posted, but hey: Bring opaque sleeves, esp. for cards that are screwed up on th...

Re: Charlie Brown- this one's new to me
I now have a German Sapphire w/ Charlie on it too. I guess both the German and English cards were printed at essentially the same time? http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=mtgcom/arcana/252 This link shows a closeup of the English green & blue. My German green does not have this, it has a woman fac...
