Re: Magic Memorabilia

The Magic: The Gathering Vintage Accessories group on Facebook might also be of use in this.

Re: Magic Memorabilia

Can I suggest building upon MTGSalvation Wiki's lists of memorabilia (such as http://mtgsalvation.gamepedia.com/Magic_merchandise)? Merging your lists and organizing on the wiki would make it easy to collaborate, and then final lists can be moved to the site when Drag's time allows.

Re: Old School 93/94 Magic & the Library of Dominia

IMO the 93/94 format should forbid sleeves. That's how we rolled in the old days. --- The Library of Dominia was at http://www.tranquility.com/magic/. The link is dead, but poke around the Archive.org versions at https://web.archive.org/web/*/tranquility.com/magic/ and maybe you'll find what you're ...

Heard those same things in every store, every new set. Sometimes, it was even the store owners doing it to push some extra boosters ;) Every once in a while, someone would get a good rare and attribute it to the "patterns" and keep the urban legends going. There have been some attempts with early se...

My first thought would be separate print runs, possibly one for the prerelease product and one for general release.

Looks like sun-bleached or washed-out normal card back to me. The alternate Arabian Nights card back had the words "Arabian Nights" on it, this doesn't. That makes me doubt its meant to be a new card back along the same lines.

The Ice Age video wasn't exactly a commercial, it played on video screens at their convention booth that year. There is an even odder Homelands video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pwIPwi_FSVc ). Just more Wizards employees doing some LARPing on camera :) If you wanna see the real low point of Wot...

I'm like Gryfalia, I feel like I've seen these before but none of my boxes match. My very first thought when I saw these was that it might be product shipped for the Prereleases.

Very dumb mechanic, especially in a tournament setting. They should have just used the Flip mechanic from Kamigawa.

For storage (and even playing), comic book bags are a pretty decent and cheap solution.

Hmmm ... I think what you're looking for is the first Pro Tour logo. I have one version at http://mtgarchive.net/wiki/File:Logo_1996_Worlds.gif but I'd also love to find a larger, cleaner version of them. They went through quite a few iterations of that logo 1996-1999 or so. Also, check out this pag...

MTG commercials on MTV

A while back I managed to get hold of a videotape of some rather funny skits that appeared on MTV back in 1997. Though I'm not much of a videographer, I've managed to finally transfer the tape to digital and uploaded the clips to youtube. I knew there were some fans of Magic nostalgia like this here...

Correct. 4th edition products have two prices, as a result of an increase in September 1995.
