From Wizards.com: For 2022, we're excited to share even more awesome promotional cards, this time themed for the Year of the Tiger! APAC League 2022 events begin with a season qualifier, beginning February 25, taking place at your local Wizards Play Network game store in Asia-Pacific. The top two finishing players from each qualifier earn entry into an end-of-year championship event, and players entering a qualifier receive a promotional card while supplies last. The top two players from each event will be awarded with playmats featuring full art from the Promo cards. APAC League 2022 qualifier events can be held as a variety of formats—including Standard, Booster Draft, Sealed Deck—and feature a different promotional card throughout the year. From WPN: Asia-Pacific WPN retailers, it's time to kick off the Year of the Tiger with your community! From February 25–April 10 you can host the first APAC League Standard or Limited event and hand out the Promo, Temur Sabertooth. The Promo will be available in all Asia-Pacific regions, though WPN retailers in Japan will not be hosting APAC League events. In Japan, it will be distributed during the Magic League in October and November 2022. The event is the first of five APAC League events your players can look forward to in 2022, with three events that feed into a Championship at the end of the year. The qualifiers will take place during Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty, Streets of New Capenna, and Dominaria United seasons. Participating in each qualifier throughout the year will give players the opportunity to scale the ranks—the top two players from each qualifier will earn an invite to the Championship event at the end of the year. That's not all—the top two players from each event will be awarded with playmats featuring full art from the Promo cards. Each promo card will be available in English, Japanese, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese language versions. Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty Promo – Temur Sabertooth. APAC League For those living in the APAC region, the APAC League 2022 is ongoing! And you've got more reasons to join up, as the League will be culminating in Championships in December, featuring an exclusive alternate-reality pin set made by Pinfinity. The Streets of New Capenna season runs May 6–June 19. The Championship will be held in December and will be Standard with Top 8 draft. There will be seventeen Championship events in total in the APAC region divided as follows: Australia – 5 China – 3 New Zealand – 1 Chinese Taipei – 1 Hong Kong – 1 South Korea – 1 Singapore – 1 Malaysia – 1 Indonesia – 1 Philippines – 1 Thailand – 1  Exclusive alternate-reality pin set made by Pinfinity.   First and second place exclusive trophies. 36 trophies (Herald's Horn) were produced for the @wizards_magic APAC League 2022. The ornate tiger heads were printed in an impact resistant resin, and we slush cast the main bulk of the horns from a fun little glove mold we made and the bases were solid cast with a bit of filler for weight. They're painted in lacquers - runner up is with hyperchrome cold, and first place is 2 coats of rich gold topped with a coat of red gold. All we're then given a light weathering pass for that well-maintained ancient artifact look, and they shipped in their own individual carry cases to make it easy for the winners to transport home! Get ready to ring in the Year of the Rabbit with WPN stores in the Asia-Pacific region and the second annual APAC League. Like last year, the promos and League events are exclusive to the Asia-Pacific region, and this year-long event is a great way to celebrate the Year of the Rabbit with the community. If you're a new or returning player, it's also a great chance to jump into the fray with epic games from each Standard set release in 2023. APAC LEAGUE OVERVIEW The first of five seasons of the APAC League run from February 10–March 19. Here's how the event works: WPN stores will host APAC League Events during the season period. Events will be Sealed, Booster Draft, or Standard format with the Swiss pairing method. YEAR OF THE RABBIT PROMOS BY SEASON Each season of the APAC League is accompanied by epic promos highlighting the Year of the Rabbit—a time of contemplation and rest, and of swift movement and travel, like the clever rabbit itself. (Note: Year of the Rabbit promos will be available through WPN stores in Japan but will be distributed differently. Check with your local game store in Japan to learn more.) APAC LEAGUE 2024 In celebration of Lunar New Year and kicking off with events in February, there are new promo cards themed for the Year of the Dragon for players to pick up! Across APAC, except for Japan, these promos will be part of the APAC League returning for 2024. In Japan, select in-store Standard and Limited events will share these new promo cards. And elsewhere globally, Standard Showdown events February 9-18 are where players can find these promos available. This means that some* of the Year of the Dragon promo cards are not limited by region this year, unlike in some years past! This is a remarkably cool promotion to celebrate the Lunar New Year with. Furthermore, Wizards provides details on how to obtain these cards in Asian and Pacific Island locations, as well as globally: Updated for a new year, the APAC League is a year-long series of events featuring the Standard format, a championship playoff, and beautiful Year of the Dragon promo cards for players. Through Lunar New Year Celebration events running until March 31, both promo cards above as well as a 4/4 Dragon creature token are available for players. There are seven promo cards altogether, including this Dragon token, with lovely, striking art by SONG QIJIN.
