I auctioned these two cards ending Jan.24 and they sold for $103.75 and $137.50 respectively. I'm not sure if those two you mention were in reference to the ones I sold and your prices are just the euro equivalent of the USD ending price? If not, then these are additional data.B_UN|T wrote: Shanodin Dryads 75,44€

Most of the rares on the list are not priced correctly. I know for a fact that Doppleganger would sell for more then $1k and the duals have gone up a bit since this list was created. Many of the Junk rares are $500+ these days as well.B_UN|T wrote:The prices are not older than 1 monthMagic61983 wrote:In general I think majority of these prices are outdated.

That's a shame Gary. Probably still a $200 card but it really depends on how bad that crease is.mystical_tutor wrote:So what would a Ankh of Mishra with a binder crease be worth? Can't get to the picture atm.

Hey guys, here's a little anecdote for you. If you think what I'm about to write is out of place, please tell me I'll just delete it, but I really had to share.
So as many of you know, a certain dealer going by the initials of D.C., principally dealing in graded cards has currently gotten into misprints and rarities. He got himself a complete set of Summer Magic (which is most certainly on consignment).
So he comes to me and asks me for prices on some of my cards, and he saw in my post that I'm looking for Summer, so he asks me what I'm looking for. So I tell him well, I'm looking for a Wild Growth, Disenchant, Royal Assassin, Vesuvan and Birds. And yeah, having heard some stories about him, I was expecting something high, but I didn't care, I was just curious, knowing beforehand no deal would ever be made. So here are the prices he gives me.
Birds: 11k
Vesuvan: 14k
Assassin: 9k
Wild Growth: 1k
Disenchant: 2k
So I told him his prices were way off in general and of course he tells me that those are very rare and that he understands my strategy of trying to bring the prices down, but that he has received offers in this ballpark so far. Of course I didn't believe a word of what he said, I kinda told him what I thought about his way of doing things, that he was not the only one in the world with Summer cards and that he should make more research before stating prices like this, and he finally thanked me for my knowledge and insight??!! Was he ironic? Who knows. He also told me it would be impossible for us to work out a deal on those Summer cards haha. End of story.
So yeah, feel free to comment and tell me your thoughts about that, and like I said, if you feel like this post is out of place, I'll just delete it. Thanks!
Matt

Hey Paul,
Hope you're doing good. Yeah you assumed right, they were all raw. In my opinion the "best" price out of the lot was the Birds, but still... A Vesuvan at 14k and a Birds at a lower price, I was like euhhh... it makes no sense at all.
All the best,
Matt

I'm well Matt, hope you are too.
Those prices are too high for Raw. If the Birds are in NM-NM+ condition as raw then yah that would be a good price. Did he send you scans?
Just for comparison I am currently valuing my BGS 9.5 Brids at mid-high teens, and that is primarily due to the Gem Mint and only 1 on census premium. So unless that raw is NM or better it is overvalued.
And like you I would put the birds at the top of that group wrt value. The Ves Dop is a great card and hard to find as well but it should not command a higher value than the Birds.
The Assassin if NM Raw should probably fetch around 4-5K depending on condition. And the other 2 are also overvalued.
If DC (or his "client") were smart they should start by getting the rares and popular cards graded. And only then if the grades were awesome enough should they have the balls to ask these kinds of prices. Because at least then they could justify it (within reason).
