Global Mind Twist Collection

Post by willard507 » Tue Nov 16, 2010 4:01 am

I need help. I am collecting a global set of mind twists but I am having trouble telling the difference between German white bordered revised and German white bordered fourth edition as they share the same copyright date. I also have the same issue with Italian. I am actually going to try and build a little web display for the collections section but need to figure out what I actually have before continuing. Thanks ahead of time for your help.
I'm looking for odd/rare Mind Twists.

It does, in German it is Wahnsinn, so this method will work.

Thanks that takes care of the German problem. Any suggestions for the Italian? I really appreciate the help.

I would be interested in a psa 10 alpha twist.

I believe italian shows the same difference.

You've got an i in that name too (Distorcere la Mente) so you should be able to distinguish.

Thanks. Probably best there is no psa 10 alpha twist because I would just have to crack the case so I could play with it anyway.

Also what about cards that contain no i?

Italian does NOT show the same difference!
Both Italian sets use slashes on 'i' and 'j'. The way to tell them apart is the copyright line at the bottom. Revised is in bold font, 4th edition is not. Also for red cards, the text is white in Revised and black in 4th.

I'll try to add scans later, I can't find the plug for my scanner right now.

There's definitely a difference in the "i" dot on my Italian Savannah Lions from Revised and 4th Edition, but maybe there isn't a difference on all cards.

Edit: Here's a scan:

Do you have cards that I'm looking for? Let me know!

Here's something else that should help confuse things for Italian 3rd/4th

So berkumps, I assume the 2 Channels on the left are both Revised?

Jeppe, that's interesting. My 4th edition Unholy Strength has a slash on the i.
Can you check some of your commons?

Here's something to further confuse the Italian 3rd/4th issue...

while confirming what edition some recent WB singles are, I noticed that, at the bottom of my new Mesa Pegasus, it's (C) lines up under the left edge of the text box, where on the other Italian cards I have (with slashed i's instead of dots), their (C) is to the left of the left edge of the text box. Can anyone else look at their cards and see if they have this too?

I only have the Mesa Pegasus (which I believe is 4th Edition) that does this, and have no other cards I believe are Italian 4th Edition for comparison.

If you happen onto an extra Italian BB 3d ed Mind Twist, it is the only card I need to complete my Italian set.

Please let me know if you find one.
