Complete PSA Graded Alpha Set

Post by l0qii » Sat Apr 18, 2009 5:46 pm

Well the #3 Alpha Set on the PSA Registry has gone up on you know where for the cool asking price of $45,000. It speaks for itself.

78, but because I also have a lot of 8's, my set comes in just under his for over all grade, even though it's probably worth a bit more

If I remember correctly, most/many of your P9 are 10's? I would say if this guys set sells at his asking price, that you should be very happy.

Wow - I didn't even know Michael had listed his set!!

I'm not sure how serious he is about selling, although if someone does pony up the $45K I'm sure he'll let it go no problem

On the other hand, if he decides to break it up and sell it, things would get very interesting, I suspect :-k

Take it easy,

Have you ever considered getting it re-graded by BGS?

There is 1 and it is currently in the #1 PSA graded set. I would estimate that it would be worth about $1000, but don't expect it to ever be for sale.

Are you asking me or the owner of the set for auction? I would never send my set off to BGS simply because it's already graded by PSA, why spend all that money for nothing?

there is a pic of the psa10 Birds of Paradise, but it's not centered:

Absolut Alphas

And I don't know why it's listed twice, under Absolute Alphas and under DM's Alpha Set?!

And why the hell are Cop:Black and Volcanic Island included in that pic ?!

Well, not a PSA fault on those 2, graded as Betas, but a lot of the 10s aren't really as centered as you'd expect from a 10, but we all know that PSA grading is more or less random.

Absolut Alpha's set is "retired". It's still on the registry as a history marker, but it was purchased by the now #1 owner and combined with another partial set to make the current #1 set.

The 2 betas are in the pic because he put them in there as place holders. No big deal.
