Which foreign release was first? Any proof?
Hi, my first post here, but it seems the right place for asking this, since
I found very blurry/or contradicting info on this subject throughout the net,
at least contradicting my personal memories (or what's left of it :-)
In Magic Encyclopedia Vol. 1, it is stated that Italy was first to recieve their/the
first localized foreign language release of revised limited in October '94.
In Duelist Nr. 8 it is clearly stated that french and german releases were also released in 1994.
BUT, I have very strong remembrance of buying my first revised limited german cards "around" summer, the latter marking the end of my timeframe.
Wasn't it around May, June, July, even August, when there were german lim. revised cards for sale? The Boxes I still have don't say the exact date, only that it was in 1994.
So, either my memory is playing tricks on me (But I remember definately playing it on a sunny day, outside, with a friend. Plastic-Sleeves? Too expensive ;-)
or the release dates of those three localized versions were pretty close to one another.
Could someone please help my memory back on the track again?
Much appreciated!

PS: And some kind of evidence/official release date on the german and french release dates, month will suffice, would be great as well!

Alright, that should set things in perspective again.Archivist wrote:Italian limited edition (black-bordered Revised) was released in October 1994, followed by German and French editions in March 1995. Spanish was in July 1995.
Thanks for offering the release dates! :-)
... and where did your Evil Eyes rested upon, to gather
that bit of information? I searched the hell out of google...
Thx!
Duelist #4 page 87 is a good place to start.
There was also this press release from WotC that gave the dates that I mentioned.
One person also made a newsgroup posting that it was on sale in Munich on March 17, 1995.
