It's interesting that this appears to have different punctuation than a printed Time Vault. From the picture, it seems that there is a comma after the word 'phase', instead of a semicolon.
Also, I can't quite tell, but are the lines (ie. letters, pic, border) etched into the metal, or raised?

There are other metal cards, which are mentioned here:
http://www.magiclibrarities.net/719-rar ... index.html
They are considered 3rd party test prints, not official items. None of them look like this Time Vault.
In my opinion, cards like these, which are unofficially made by a third party, are worthless. Anyone with access to a fab-lab can make a handful of these with little effort.

Here's a reply from MOTL that I thought people here would be interested in if they hadn't already seen it:

The metal was created by some guy in europe who is a super fan of Mark Tedin. He made them himself and he has a few other metal plates like these, such as Mana Drain and Juzam Djinn. I was offered to buy blocks of them for 50 euroes each but I refused, simply for the reason that it can be mass produced (I think he had about 10 of each on him that day) They are aluminum made I think.
In GP boston, someone owned one and was shopping it around the dealers. Jeremy Muir (lycheestar/ex-TnT employee) bought it for $125 or $150, without knowing any of it's history. He managed to flip that thing for $750 to a guy. Coincidentally I manage to run into the guy that bought the metal plate. I told him about the entire story and we'll just leave it at that. Whether or not it is the same one from GP boston, I don't know, but the creator did mention he put one or few (i forgot) on ebay.

I really hate to see people get ripped off but it sure happens.
In the 1500s the saying "a fool and his money are soon parted" was penned and some still have not learned it.
P.T. Barnum of Barnum and Bailey Circus fame is credited with: "Theres a sucker borne every minute". Some claim he never said it but it is true all the same.
Sigh,
Gary

Amazing how the knowledgeable "flipper" or dealer, or whatever you want to call him, made the big bucks reselling an item he didn't know the story behind. I wonder what kind of story he used to make the sale.
That is the difference between collectibles like Magic and more established types like art or coins. In the more established groups, the back story (or at least a decent attempt at determining the legitimacy of an item) is critical.
