Unopened Beta Starter Deck - Price question

Post by Erl00 » Mon Apr 18, 2011 1:52 pm

Hi there!

Hi to all the old fellows that I used to discuss and trade with a looooooong time ago, when I was still into collecting MtG stuff.

I quitted MtG collection 5 years ago so I guess not many people will remember me.

Anyway, I'm coming back today with a question. I've been asked by a good friend in France about the price I would sell my sealed Beta Starter Deck. The inputs I got so far led me to the conclusion that current US$ / € exchange rate is not favourable enough to sell this item (market prices are given iun US$ and when I translate into €, the result sounds disappointing). I'm however posting today on this forum, that I know populated with serious traders, to get additional inputs.

Thanks in advance for letting me know what you think. The starter is in great condition and has always been stored extremely cautiously sinceI own it.

Best regards,
Eric.

i would not sell it under 1200 euros.

Richard, it is a Deck.

The last one I sold on "you know where" went for just a little over 1000USD. As opposed to the last Alpha that went for 1500 USD.

What do you value it at in Euros? I'm going to Russia in a couple weeks, maybe I should take some with me.

Just for the record, Russian doesn't use Euros, so any comparison might not be useful...
He's just this guy, ya know?

Hi there,

Thanks for the input Pickle. As Mystical said, it's a Starter deck, so it was always marginal in my collection. I maight let it go. I've had various offers so far but I think the current $/€ rate is not favourable enough. When I translate $ offers into €, I'm dispappointed :)

Any further input on the price of this deck.

not possible to move it to someone that would pay in euro if the exchange rate is whats holding you back? I know not all collectors reside in the US using the US dollar so I'd assume you should have some luck if you're patient or just request the payment in euros.

Actually I was too but did not get on much (I was in Korea and internet was only through MILNET as I recall). When the board changed hands I must have been dropped for inactivity or some such. I don't think my handle was the same even.
