Huge summer Edgar sale on MOTL. Kidicarus

Post by 98ViperGTS » Wed Oct 12, 2011 7:35 am

It's times like this that I wish I hadn't gotten away from the game. Kidicarus is selling a huge collection of summer Edgar stuff, including 19 Rares. Serious buyers should check it out.

Looks like a nice selection, but I'm not sure 49K is a realistic figure. Most of the rares are junk rares. You know, who (besides me!) is wanting a Summer Primal Clay anyways? :)

I'm not registered on magictraders, if someone would be so helpful to post there I'm interested into Giant Growth + Stone Rain + Terror, I'd be very very happy. :wink:

Another chance for me to get my Royal. Hope he breaks it up. Imagine he will have to, but never know.

The highlights on the collection should be around $14k. taking that into consideration. If all the commons were eh commons they're roughly $75 each which isn't really fair to say since the list contains a Dark rit, Kird Ape, Bolt, BeB and ReB. I'm sure I missed a few on the commons list as well. For the Uncommons they're usually around $100 each for junk ones and besides the ones listed in the highlight list they're all junk. Junk rares are in the area of $300-$350 each Royal Assassin not being a junk rare and should have been in the highlight list.

Blue Hurricane = $4000
Badlands = $1500
Bayou = $1750
Tropical Island = $3000
Balance = $1500
Nevinyrral's Disk = $1000
Animate Dead = $350
Hypnotic Specter = $600
Swords to Plowshares = $750
Assassin = $1500

Junk 13 Rares = $4k give or take $1k
Junk 59 Uncommons = $5900
Junk 70 Commons = $5250
3 Islands = $600
3 Forest = $375
3 Mountains = $375
3 Plains = $300
3 Swamps = $450
Bolt = $300
BeB = $200
ReB = $250
Dark Rit = $300
Kird Ape = $200

Bringing the total to: $34k

At $49k he's shooting for the moon.
BGS 9+ Alpha set 282/295 (97.29%) Avg 9.41
BGS 9.5+ Beta set 283/302 (93.71%) Avg 9.58
BGS 9.5+ Arabian set 35/92 (38.04%) Avg 9.62
BGS 9.5+ Antiquities set 82/100 (82%) Avg 9.64
BGS 9.5+ Legends set 279/310 (90.00%) Avg 9.61

Not to mention that "if" he pieces it out he would probably have a much faster turn around. Let's be serious very rarely would a collection like this trade hands as a whole whereas there are a decent chunk of Edgar collectors looking for individual pieces to help finish off their sets. Seems like a poor business choice to me and yeah, the price is wack.
squt: Sweet! That's the best trade - one that doesn't cost a thing.

I'm interested in Scryb Sprites, Giant Growth, Stone Rain and Prodigal Sorcerer. If he splits the set, it's gonna be a hge addition to our collections.

You know, he did mention Librarities and how he's trying to get an account activated here...

MOTL rules require that a price be set and I didn't want to set it too low and not get full value

He listed the Summer Primal Clay on eBay (so it appears he's selling the whole lot in pieces), and I put my bid in on the Clay (hehe).

Hoping no one here gets into a bidding war with me :) Instead, wish me luck in winning the auction!

Unfortunately, we have gained a reputation for being slow to activate accounts. He's not the only one complaining, someone asked me about it as well.

I wish everyone luck on the Summer. Set collectors, go for the rares. Those commons & uncommons will crop up tenfold before you see another copy of the rare.
