Congrats to the members who picked up the rares. I thought about the hordes, but a combination of a member wanting it and money potentially being spent in better avenues held me back. Not too interested in this week's offerings either. At the rate prices are going, it wouldn't shock me to see the hurricane ending for 5k. Either way I'm already pretty much prepared to have to pay 2k on the non blue duals and 3odd on the trop.

It will be nice to see what the big cards go for. Anything over 1k seems to keep plenty of people away (including myself).

all the kids/young adults that started playing magic in the 90s now have a lot more purchasing power. that coupled with the fact that EDH has drawn a lot of these folk back into the game sort of explains why prices have been going up so much for these cards...
tho i do wonder if this is sort of becoming an 'asset' bubble like housing. i tend to think that most ppl who are buying are not trying to immediately flip for a profit so this might be the new 'norm' for these kind of cards- at least until mtg loses its (resurgent) popularity

Well at first glance of the new batch of summer kid has for us i would say the Disk followed by the STP will have the most interest.
Just keep in mind that Disk will not fetch as much as we're all hoping it will being not NM, i would say EXT at best.
That alone will turn all the purists off, and keep the price down a little.
It's not an upgrade by a long shot. In my opinion if it goes over $1k i'll be surprised.

I have enough cards to stack them all up, and commit suicide off the top!
