Do messed up borders count as misprints?
I have a card from alara that has the left side corners in a rectangular shape not the curved shape.... does that count as anything in terms of misprints or that is commonplace? thanks!

I would call this a misprint, others would call it something else but the bottom line is that they are quite scarce and have a high degree of collectability and desirability to some.shaselai1 wrote:I have a card from alara that has the left side corners in a rectangular shape not the curved shape.... does that count as anything in terms of misprints or that is commonplace? thanks!

if it's some random card, i add about $2~3 to it
playable type 1 card, +$5~10
random foil, $2~3
playable type 1 foil, +$10~15
This also depends on how many of the corner is squared. I've seen a foil common japanese all square border go for about $25~75

Did you pull this card out of a pack? If not I'd suspect someone possibly trimmed the card.shaselai1 wrote:it has one corner squared and another very small round corner. The top border width seems to be a little smaller than normal cards width...
My Japanese foil Probe all square cut cost me $75 if I remember correctly.AzureWinter wrote: This also depends on how many of the corner is squared. I've seen a foil common japanese all square border go for about $25~75

That can easily be checked by comparing total size with a regular magic card.Magic61983 wrote:Did you pull this card out of a pack? If not I'd suspect someone possibly trimmed the card.

Interesting how experiences differ. Out of the 15,000 cards in my collection, the 95,000+ other cards I possess and a few cards that have passed through my hands since '93 I have only 1 square corner card that I know of--and I traded for it. I have never pulled one.Tha_Gunslinga wrote:There are zillions of these out there; it's worth a dollar or two more. I have dozens of cards with two square corners.
If your just a common person, like me, and not someone in contact with zillions of cards, this is kinda rare.
