RFID cards in 6-card packs

Post by berkumps » Thu Jan 10, 2013 5:42 am

For sng's, I bought a bunch of 6-card packs with RFID's in them to see both what the cards looked like, as well as the RFID itself. One thing I did notice, is that 99% of the time, the RFID is located in the same spot for any given expansion. The quality of the card that the RFID is affixed to seems to have improved starting with Innistrad, using a thicker cardstock such that it isn't as flimsy as previous sets. Also, for some reason, the RFIDs in Dark Ascension are physically different than every other set I've seen. Don't ask me why.

You know if they put anything on the card at all it will become collectable!

Well done on getting in early!

I am surprised there aren't adverts at least, or a redemption card for the missing rare :)

Plus, if you haven't already done so, could you grab an M13 and a Return to Ravnica 6 pack for me, just seen one on ebay and they want $5 for a six pack http://www.ebay.com/itm/Magic-the-Gathe ... 27cebe18a1

Mark;

I just sent both of those to you, unless you just want a back up.

I always need a back up!

The Canadian Versions have some French writing on them (And occassionaly printing errors) and are a different variety to the American ones.

I also raid ebay and other collectors pick them up for me when they get a chance!

I think these will be some of the harder ones to locate in the future so I am always happy to have extra for my collection and to trade with.

Cheers and I will let you know when they get to me!

I searched a local Walmart for Gatecrash 6-card packs last night, and of the 100+ packs they had, none of them had an RFID inside. Have they done away with these?

I was thinking the same thing as I was going through packs at our local Wall Mat. I was very careful to turn sideways in the isle so the security cameras could get a good shot of me going thrugh them, replaceing all of them, removing just 2 and going to the sales counter.

No RFIDs

Maybe it was not cost effective.
