Post by jamesham » Mon Feb 22, 2010 9:39 am

so i'm thinking of selling some cards on ebay
i haven't done it for a couple of years and i hear that the new charges mean it isn't really worthwhile
is that true?
does anyone have recent experience of selling on ebay?
the cards i will sell include the following:

mana drain [eng]
FOW
-these next ones are all english foil and from the original sets-
treachery
stifle
covetous dragon
snuff out
deus of calamity
cursecatcher
cranial extraction
threads [2]
platinum angel
pristine angel
goblin chieftain
protean hulk
visara
arid mesa
phyrexian negator
sundering titan
reya
acc. knowledge [2]
razormane masticore
kor haven
brain freeze
kokusho
rorix
ethersworn canonist
bloodbraid
avatar of woe
haunting echoes

null rod [2]
scroll rack
mind over matter
dark ritual [beta]
morphling [2 Jap]
tol. academy [jap]
recurrring nightmare
living death
one of each revised dual land

the cards are all ex+/nm

any feedback on this would be gratefully appreciated

please note that ALL cards are foil ... drain, fow an so on obviously not ...

those are kind of bad for ebay as they are not higly demanded:

deus of calamity
protean hulk
phyrexian negator
haunting echoes
scroll rack
mind over matter
morphling [2 Jap]
living death

especially the morphlings could end up very low on ebay.

my thoughts ...

Try selling on motl or perhaps here before going through eBay for those cards. Saves on a lot of fees, and you might be able to sell the whole lot at once if you're willing to make certain concessions on price. Saves a lot of hassle too.

You can also try Selling it as a LOT on Magic Traders website (MOTL).

depends on what you are selling. If it is type 2 popular stuff then it is probably worth it. if it is more collector items then probably not worth it unless you put a reserved price on it.

As a lot, possibly. Card by card--not worth it IMO.
