I'll probably be there. If I had any advice bring lots of money. There will probably be a bunch of stuff there you've never seen before......well that's as long as Jim comes.

I don't think there's ever been a show that's had tens of thousands of people. These big events usually have around 750-1000 players and probably another 100 people trading/dealing.

o... how far have you gotten or you know anyone here gotten in these tournies? It will be my first time there and I am doing it because of the format being sealed so it will be mostly fair to all..

Im holding the Steel City Power Nine Extravaganza the same weekend... From the response I'm getting, I would assume this will be the one of the largest Vintage events of the year in North America.
Sealed GPs generally draw a smaller crowd than constructed and I wanted to give the Eternal players a chance to practice before the Championship at Gen Con.

what/where is this event? I guess it is all constructed? I really really hate constructed because there seems to be a lot of people just buy their way in through netdecks.

how intense is the tournament? Are there fighting breaking out for so and so beating a pro or someone so much better in rating? Or people pretty much laugh it off on loses etc.?

These aren't wrestling matches we're talking about. This is a Magic card event. There will be some pretty mad people because they got beat but I don't believe I've ever been to a Magic event were someone threw a punch. Usually if a player is mad there mad at them self for making a play mistake.

You may run into a few people that get extremely pissed off at "how lucky you are". They won't resort to physical violence, but the verbal berating will be endless.

I will be there to play. I'd love to meet some other board members.

I have been to 4 or so Worlds and a dozen GPs and I think that has almost always been the case--the sad exception is when someone gets all POd and tries to take it out on the judging staff. Of course we know how that ends up.....

I won't be at Boston. Having guests from Korea that month.

I'll most likely be at GP Boston, if there's room in my friends carpool.
Since I lack collection now, I'll most likely just play in the main event and if I make day 2, it would be good. If i don't, then i'm there just doing trades.
