German Exodus cards - small set symbol?

Post by jamesham » Fri Feb 12, 2010 9:13 am

Hi
I recently bought some german language exodus cards [example below]:

They have smaller-sized set symbols than exodus cards from other languages [example below]:

Is that usual for all german exodus cards, or are some small and some regular-sized?
Thanks.

yes, it is usual for all German Exodus cards. All German Exodus cards have those little symbols.

I think, the little symbol is more smarter, more elegant than the big raw one...

I believe it was done because there was a concern that some card type lines wouldn't fit with the larger expansion symbol. Because, you know...German ones are longer.

I don't think any other set has shrunken expansion symbols like Exodus though.

I can confirm Italian has the same symbol as the English.

I should have some German Exodus creature cards lying around where the type line essentially reaches the expansion symbol. As Squt mentioned, this is likely the reason for the tiny symbol.

I think I have Exodus cards from each language, so I will compare them all and let you know.

Here's an example of why the German Exodus symbol is so small:

With all the new creature types and subtypes, I wonder if there is ever going to be a similar problem again if the set symbol is horizontal, like Exodus', rather than vertical.
